  1. One of the things I want to try on my KK is pizza. Is it very hard to use a peel or is one of these worth the extra dough?
  2. I did read your post, but thanks for the reminder. Seems like I need them more each passing day.
  3. Well it is done. My Bronze Beauty is ordered! I guess it pays to wait, Dennis has informed me that I will receive the first factory installed Guru inducer tube. Way to go Dennis Now where is a worm hole when you need one? P.S When my daughter saw this new smiliey she said I had to use it. Not sure when I can work that into a post, so here it is, and I can tell her I have. Roy
  4. Re: Future KOmodos will be sent w/ the tube installed. I'm pretty sure it does not but let me see what I can do.. I had heard some vague rumors about customer service, is this a sign......
  5. Re: Future KOmodos will be sent w/ the tube installed.
  6. ...or anyone with egg/GD experience. Any tips to make the transition to the KK (different draft door and damper) easier. Also, I used a MAPP torch to light my GD, any reason to get the gas accessory for the KK?
  7. All right, I have been waiting about 8 months now whats a few more weeks. Even the wife who had been showing a slight preference for the cobalt blue, also a very nice color I might add, is telling me to get the one I want. I think she has a little guilt for killing my GD, and thinks I deserve a little something from the wreck. Yes a kid ran a stop sign and rolled me a few times. I was not hurt too bad, just needed shoulder surgery, and hopefully someday it may be completely pain free but you can't convince me of that yet. The insurance is finally coming through Monday after a year and a half. So thats how to get a KK sooner than you planned just put yourself in front of that speeding car. P.S Dennis, just please don't send it through the pirate infested waters.
  8. Not sure the neighbors would appreciate that.
  9. Ok I know it is ultimately my decision but, it looks like next week I finally get to order my KK so do I wait 4 to 5 weeks for a Bronze Beauty (thanks Doc) or settle (can you use that word talking about a KK?) for one of the other colors I was debating before the Bronze made it's appearance that are already state side and I can have in 4 or 5 days? I have never been accused of being very patient. I had a ring on my wifes finger three months after we met. Of course that was because ever girl before her dumped me in about three months and I wanted to try and keep her. I guess it worked, we just celibrated out 25th in Jan. Is it normal for a 50 year old man to feel uh... giddy over buying a grill????
  10. For now, until we can get Dennis held down to insert that GPS device, here is the easy way. Dennis Weekend Time
  11. Re: Here's your sunlight photos. Thanks, that looks really nice. Can't wait to order mine.
  12. Need to get in touch with Dennis. But don't want to disturb his sleep. Forget counting time zones. Just use this link. Dennis Linkletter Time
  13. I agree with everything the doc said except (don't you just love the excepts ) the increased drag in cold air and decreased drag in hot air. While true it is a very small part of the equation. There is actually more lift in cold, more dense, air and less lift in hot, thinner, air which multiplies the problems of less horsepower on those hot days. I know this has nothing to do with the discussion at hand, but he started it, really he did.
  14. Congratulations Tom, good to know nice things happen to nice people even in these times.
  15. Oops, fixed the link above to take you to the correct gallery.
  16. Here are a few pictures from the ice storm. and just to show you can grill on a Weber in cold temps, its just not easy. a few more can be found here http://rgarman.smugmug.com/gallery/7744396_VYogt/1/500694254_qV6Ro I told the wife she picked a great year to kill the GD. We were without power for 17 days, lots of food to cook.
  17. Looks like the Bronze Behemoth has found a nice home. Hope Dennis has another one in the works, hope to be able to give one a home here in KY before too long.
  18. Congratulations, I had been eying that Bronze Beauty everyday for awhile now. Was getting closer to having the funds to make the plunge myself. So I know how you feel finally having it on the way. Sorry to hear it didn't show on time. If it accidentally shows up here in KY I will be sure to let you know . Will be waiting to see some pics of it out in the wild. Roy
  19. That black looks really nice, I think I am still leaning toward that Bronze Metallic though. But at this point I wish any color was at my door. Thanks to the ice storm we are on day 7 with no power or water (on a well). Just got power back at work. And on my first quick sandwich break this is the first place I head It may not be as easy but you can cook on a small weber in 20 degree weather. I hope they get to us soon but it could be several more weeks. I must get these pennies to multiply faster so I can get that KK coming. Maybe I need to feed them some rabbit food
  20. I love reading fairy tales with happy endings. Glad to hear the food turned out good anyway. Got to love cooking on a "ceramic" cooker almost always a good result despite our best efforts other wise.
  21. I don't even have a KK yet and for something that comes with a ton of accessories the others guys don't. My needed (wanted) accessory list just keeps growing... jammies, stoker, rotis, and now this. Whats next? Oh yeah, nice work Fetz
  22. JD I had heard that some thought the iodine gave brine an off flavor. But much reading shows no consensus on this. Here is a link that appears to know much more than I. But as you noted be sure what type salt was used in the recipe and adjust accordingly. That is one thing I agree with AB on it is much easier to use weights instead of measuring. http://virtualweberbullet.com/brining.html
  23. Chili?? Here is my chili story though it won't help you any. Well maybe what not to do. Many years ago, shortly after we were married, my new bride made chili for dinner. It was very bland and I do mean very. But being the nice husband (and having learned my lesson after the gravy incident ) I ate it and said nothing. A few days later while rummaging in the pantry I found a rolled up bag of McCormick Chili mix with a rubber band around it. I asked the wife what it was. She said it was left over from the other night. I asked why she didn't use all of it. Because that was the way Mom did it. Well needless to say that weekend we went shopping and bought a cookbook and stocked up the spice rack. Now her chili is much better though still a compromise between what I would prefer, and what everyone else likes.
