Poochie Posted September 26, 2021 Report Posted September 26, 2021 Someone cancelled their order so I purchased their 32" that was already on it's way to California. The previous buyer changed his mind again and decided he wanted the 32" after all. So now I'm back to square one. If there's any good news to this is that I can pick tiles or pebbles and the color I want now. The bad news is that instead of getting in at the end of October, it'll be closer to New Years Day. 1 3
MacKenzie Posted September 27, 2021 Report Posted September 27, 2021 That will be quite the way to start the new year off, Pouchie.:) 1
tony b Posted September 27, 2021 Report Posted September 27, 2021 (edited) Sorry to hear that you missed out on that opportunity, but you'll be just as happy (maybe more so) with the one that you pick out for yourself, despite the delay! (Hint, Hint - Dark Autumn Nebula tiles cook best!) 😄 Edited September 27, 2021 by tony b 2
MacKenzie Posted September 27, 2021 Report Posted September 27, 2021 Don't tell me Tony is still pushing tiles, I guess what they say is correct, you can't teach a retired engineer new tricks. 4
Poochie Posted September 28, 2021 Author Report Posted September 28, 2021 Tiles or pebbles is the number one question right now. World problems for sure. I do like the different versions of nebula pebbles and tiles. Olive and gold included. Do you have a picture handy of your pit, Tony ? I can’t remember what yours looks like MacKenzie. I’ll decide by Wednesday. Unless I don’t. 2
BOC Posted September 28, 2021 Report Posted September 28, 2021 I’m a tile guy, but the new pebble options may be too good to pass on. Selfishly, I also want to see a couple of them with finished products.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Poochie Posted September 28, 2021 Author Report Posted September 28, 2021 I like those dark tiles for sure. That thing looks like it's brand new. I wouldn't mind seeing the new Terra Blue Pebble installed. I've just seen photos of the pebbles loose. My wife likes the Autumn nebula tiles and their variations. We shall see. 1
tony b Posted September 29, 2021 Report Posted September 29, 2021 Yeah, that pic was taken a long time ago, right after I got it, so it was pretty "brand new." I called it "KK at Sunrise."
BOC Posted September 29, 2021 Report Posted September 29, 2021 Little trick I learned when I was going through the same…there is an “all” collection that has a lot of factory pictures of previously purchased grills. It takes a bit of scrolling but gives you a decent idea of what a number of different shades and grills look like in real life, some in different light, etc. if I were in your seat, I’d be all over the terra blue peoples that Dennis just started offering. No buyers remorse in my vibrant blue but those terra blue colors and in pebble form are damn sexy to my eyes. But to each his/her own.https://komodokamado.com/collections/allSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Poochie Posted September 29, 2021 Author Report Posted September 29, 2021 I'd sure like to see those pebbles on a smoker. They're beautiful just sitting there so I'm pretty sure they'd look great on a Komodo. Thanks for the link too!

Poochie Posted September 30, 2021 Author Report Posted September 30, 2021 Nice setup tekobo. That rolling cabinet with the marble looking top looks great in the mix too. And BIGSHEP, my other Komodo was bronze tiles...looking for something different this time. 1 1

We looked at getting a cabinet cast in concrete but the surface wasn't going to be very heat resistant, according to the maker. We went for Welsh slate in the end.
