Before they arrived I told a friend I was getting two new BBQs. His first response was, "Why two?". Before I could answer he said, "Ah, one for meat and one for milk". And that was it. They were named. 1

We had it with chips and the first of the fermented hot sauce that I made to @tony b's recipe. All good. 1
tony b Posted November 19, 2018 Report Posted November 19, 2018 Sometimes it's just karma - those names were meant to be. Glad to hear that your hot sauce came out well. 1
Tucker Posted June 28, 2020 Author Report Posted June 28, 2020 Updated now that I am back to 2 kk and a santa Maria grill 6
MacKenzie Posted June 28, 2020 Report Posted June 28, 2020 Tucker, your arrangement should pretty well cover you. Looks like a great setup.

tekobo Posted June 29, 2020 Report Posted June 29, 2020 Hey there @Tucker. How are you getting on with your Santa Maria grill? The plancha option that you showed in one of your photos got me thinking and I ordered one for my Argentinian grill. Very successful. I am still learning to manage the fire though. Not as easy to light and build the fire as in a KK but I am enjoying the journey.
Tucker Posted June 29, 2020 Author Report Posted June 29, 2020 Getting used to it, finding that the fire does not need to be large at all to create a good temp. lighting is kinda simple, build a small log cabin of kindling with newspaper in it. love the modular grates, 3/8" round, v shaped argentine, and flat top. it takes care of large volume cooks and the flat top is beautiful for scallops. we reduced to two KK's, finding the 19.5" handles many day-to day, while the 23" handles large smoking tasks. 3
tekobo Posted June 29, 2020 Report Posted June 29, 2020 Do you use wood or charcoal in the main? I tried wood and found it very smoky.
Tucker Posted June 29, 2020 Author Report Posted June 29, 2020 I have used both at different times. the charcoal, for me, is a bit more predictable. 1
Tucker Posted September 1, 2020 Author Report Posted September 1, 2020 The last photos were blurry, here is a focused one. 3
MacKenzie Posted September 1, 2020 Report Posted September 1, 2020 Tucker you certainly have a great arrangement there and all under cover. 1
