MacKenzie Posted March 24, 2016 Report Posted March 24, 2016 Found the recipe on amazing ribs.com and decided to give it a try. I cut up one slab of pork ribs and vacuum sealed in a bag with the marinating sauce. I followed the recipe but had to substitute Irish whisky for the mentioned liquor and couldn't get enough beet root to make them really red. The jar was almost totally empty so scraped out what was left. Marinated overnight. Next put them on the grill at 225F for 3 hours. After 2.5 hours basted with warm honey and took the ribs off after a total time of 3 hours. Plated. I hope you don't think I stopped at 4 ribs, these things are addictive.:) 1

Geo Posted March 24, 2016 Report Posted March 24, 2016 Yummy-looking Ribs, MacK. I've tried one of the rib recipes on Amazing Ribs, but not that one. Will look it up, and give it a try. The thing is though, your pictures could make shoe leather look wonderful!
MacKenzie Posted March 24, 2016 Author Report Posted March 24, 2016 Geo, trust me, those ribs were not like shoe leather, they were moist, tender but bite off the bone. I could not have been happier. I really could have eaten the whole slab myself but then I'd be the pig.;)
Geo Posted March 24, 2016 Report Posted March 24, 2016 Yeppers... That was my attempt at an off-handed compliment. Your photography skills are a perfect match for your cooking skills!
MacKenzie Posted March 24, 2016 Author Report Posted March 24, 2016 Geo, I knew what you meant, I knew you were being complimentary and I should have thanked you for that.:) Thanks, Geo. I hope you do try it.:)
