MacKenzie
I've been wanting to do this for some time now and the weather is miserable, rain and wind all day, so what better way to pick up my spirits.

tony b
Nice Chook, MacKenzie, as Aussie would say - LOL! Are those cranberries in the bowl? I know it's not beets, as they are hiding on the plate in the back (didn't think that I'd spot them back there, did yah?)

tony b
Early jump on Turkey Day dinner. My fav cranberry compote - slowly poach fresh cranberries in brown sugar, brandy (or Gran Marnier) and orange juice until the berries burst. Finish with orange zest, candied ginger, chopped walnuts and a splash of port wine. I'm sensing that this could be a Purple Crack opportunity?

MacKenzie
It is Tazmanian pepper berries, we call it purple crack because it leaves a purple stain on the food. We call it purple crack for fun.

MacKenzie
Lots of leftover chicken, just what I wanted. I always look forward to chicken pie and a hot chicken sandwich after doing a chicken roast.

MacKenzie
Tony, you have to move to Nova Scotia, where you will learn the finer details of life. You cannot have a hot chicken sandwich without peas, no way.
Bruce Pearson
I put peas in just about everything. Nice looking meal Mac. I’m going to have try that purple crack after listening to all you folks talking about it. I use a lot of pepper. Does the purple crack taste anything like regular pepper?
