  1. I forgot to mention You might also see on TV. The convention center just across the river in Moline, IL "I-Wireless Center" used to be known as "The Mark". KanYe West held a concert there last night "Glow in the Dark Tour". When it let out, the parking lots were flooded waist high!!! Concert attendees had no warning. Caused all kinds of problems, cars wouldn't start, ones that did could not see where to maneuver, etc. And Golf course fairways are like lakes, but the ducks seem to like it.
  2. Thanks Sanny for checking We're okay, but we did have a tornado touch the opposite side of town last night around 10:30. Town sirens going off, police cars running around with sirens blaring, things were a little exciting. I'm in a small 3 gas station town so yea it was a bit close for comfort. The island in the Mississippi I work on "Rock Island Arsenal" is partially flooded. Sand bagging and evacuation of inhibited areas going on right now. Downtown Davenport is flooded; have already built one temporary levee, and working on another. I-80 between us and Des Moines is totally shut down under water. Causing major problems and a 100 mile extra detour. Just heard Des Moines has told everyone to be out of town by 6:00 tonight. But again, where I live is fine, just saturated real good. Thank goodness I'm up high on a bluff overlooking the river. Homes along the Mississippi are getting water, but that happens from time to time. They're pretty well prepared for it and know what to do. Thanks again for your concern. John
  3. Well there you have it. Old crushed lava rock technology versus New dual wall insulating technology. Imagine that. Thanks FM.
  4. That's it. Thanks!! You can't beat em' for grinding. We love ours, even though the father-in-law (not knowingly) had it cleaned (sandblasted) before passing it to us. It's been in the family for years and years. We're sure enjoying adding the patena/coating back to it.
  5. Great Pictures Tlinder! Thanks for sharing. Wonderful Log Home you have there Curly!

  7. That's right, mortar and pestle for grinding spices, but it also goes by another name I can't think of. It's black has three legs and made from a fairly rough somewhat poris stone. I think it's orgin is Italy.
  8. Jalapenos are also good grilled, cleaned, ground up in a stone thingy (forgot the name) and added into salsa. Oh yea baby! Nice roasted flavor. Ummm Humm
  9. I'm sorry Dennis I'm sorry Dennis they had to prove you wrong on your Birithday of all days. hehe-he But, what the heck; Happy Birthday anyway. Cheers!
  10. Happy Birthday Dennis!!! Here's wishing you a good one. Happy Birthday to me too!!!! We share the same birtheday, June 10. No kidding.
  11. I've had the ET-73 for two or three years. No problem.

  14. Maybe the animals know "food" comes from there; so they're marking their territory (so they think). My Grandpup too has a big interest in my grill when ever she visits; no matter if the cover is on or not. Kind of like she also investigates the Grandsons hi-chair!!! She's good at finding little pickens and drippins I'll tell you. Thank goodness she hasn't pee'd on either.
  15. Chef, you have the second burka!!! First one is in Breckenridge. The customer tells us he had "Eyes" embroidered on it! Supposed to be sending a photo next time he gets up there. And, speaking of your pup; I can't seem to get him out of my shop either. Inside joke.
  16. You're teasing those of us who can't use a roti/EZQue!! Those of us having the other guys non preferred cooker; we, don't have a hole, mount for motor, or nothing to accomodate a roti! That sucks; now you guys have me wanting a roti! Dennis, will the smaller cooker you're designing have one?
  17. I'm with you on the Haxe DJ; but hey Pumpernickle bread, why not. I'm in the game for that too. Goes good with BEER! I don't get the drilling holes either. Culibali, when you get your grill and start using it I think you'll understand why we don't understand. Time of year may play a factor too. Especially in my area where temps swing from -20 to +100 F. During the hot summer days my cooker probably runs 120 F without a fire. Those nights I'm sure would cool slower on it's own, than say during winter. But I agree, your best bet is going to be figuring out how much coal to start with for the length of time you need, and letting it burn out slowly.
  18. Thanks U2, TNW, and Duk - All my pleasure, love doing them. Seeing there's also an interest amongst BGE owners for a custom cover that will last. TNW and I, with his expertise to evaluate and willingness to help are working together on a cover design for BGE. And if you haven't experienced Cozy's hand crafted Salt and Pepper mills; you need to. I've had a set a couple years now. His superior craftsmanship is impeccable, and something to behold. I grind salt and pepper for every cook, and they still grind every bit as well as the day they arrived. Duk, your materials are shipping today. Does Duk have anything to do with Duck calls (noticed it in your email name)? I need to learn duck calls so I can quack quack with some Duck friends that visit my pond.
  19. Lowe's carries a kit, includes 10' hose and quick release connector. Worked great for my burner/lighter.

  21. I hear an idea in the making Dennis wrote: Dennis, think about inventing a peel off version you can install at the factory. I like your idea (I hadn't heard of/experienced an odor problem before), but I can't imagine squirting silicone from a tube into all those T & G joints. I guess if you had the powered/air type dispenser would be okay.
  22. I also use heat deflector below and pizza stone on top rack. A sprinkle of Corn meal on the stone also works well for keeping pizza from sticking.
  23. Firemonkey has me ROFLMAO Firemonkey wrote: Heck Firemonkey; I felt like a battered woman! RJ's mind games were a tough force to recon with, I tell ya..... I say "were" because I finally divorced the bastard.
  24. You got that right Sanny. Sanny wrote: Yup, those were my first two suspensions; but I think the last suspension was for not keeping my word. RJ asked me not to post anything negative; specifically the moldy charcoal, and my K problems. But, dummy me, not thinking I was being derrogatory, responded to a post by someone asking if it's okay to use moldy charcoal or not. I suggested they ask their physican if they were concerned about it. Next key stroke, wham, "SUSPENDED". So the last suspension was probably my fault. My point was you could be allergic to mold. It's okay to eat strawberries too, but not if you're allergic to them.
