  1. If you only had a tiller you could build her a flower garden. Or a backhoe to build her a pond. My wife just wants me to get more life insurance and a motorcycle, I'm not quite sure what to make of that...
  2. Congrats! Now you need to start collecting toys for it. It may not be the right brand, but at least it's the right color
  3. Re: How Long to Get KK?? If you want custom-built you're best off talking to Dennis directly. As mentioned, if you find one in stock that you like delivery is very fast. It depends on what you can spend. There is only one size so that's an easy one. The classic round cooker works great, but the OTB-style is the more common variety in that it provides a more even heating and also looks better (although that's a bit subjective, of course). Textured vs. tiled is more of a personal preference thing than anything that significantly impacts the cooking. You can see a table of the various options on the price list or you can see a text description here. Hope this helps! I'm sure you'll love your cooker no matter which one you choose.
  4. It shouldn't cause rusting since it's not metal, I would have been better saying not to use non-stainless steel since it's particles left behind from standard steel or iron that cause rusting and pitting. If you like it and it works, feel free to make a post in this forum.
  5. The GrillFloss seems to be the current favorite (at least if ordered directly). Just be sure you use something stainless (like stainless steel wool) to prevent rusting.
  6. I've heard that the best way to move these things is to get a few guys and a pair of 2x4s. What's the fun in that (unless you're Sanny and like large sweaty men in your yard)? Here's my version of "2x4s" and some muscle: I just need some more manly ballast in the back besides the grass catcher - I'll put the tiller back there for the actual move.
  7. How could I have forgotten!?!? When you eat very rare meat (or whatever goes into hot dogs) it kills any parasites that may be living in there and it also helps to dull the chest pains.
  8. You have to understand the proper way to eat high-fat foods. You see the fats all build up in the arteries and block the blood flow so the best thing to do is to add lots of salt. This raises the blood pressure and it acts as a pressure washer for your circulatory system to even things out. Why is my left arm all tingly again?
  9. Now you're cookin' with napalm! Congrats Sanny!
  10. Re: Porterhouse??? Ya reckon that was a british invention? I thought it was a kiwi one? I had it in Singapore first and was told by my fake Aussie boss (Kiwi in disguise) that it was a British thing. Of course I've also had it in Madrid but I don't think I've had it in the UK so who knows if he's right.
  11. Re: Porterhouse??? Although a fried egg on a burger is surprisingly tasty
  12. First they take their sweet time getting his cooker through customs, then he gets scammed by missing the best part of the porterhouse, I guess his rotisserie unscrewed and it was the last straw: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/6898667.stm
  13. Re: Cockatoo Just let her watch a few rotisserie sessions with poultry and see if she quiets down That research phase of BGE --> MexiK --> KK sounds awfully familiar... Welcome aboard!
  14. I'm betting that they'll want one of their own. I'm sure you'd be willing to sell them yours for, oh, the same price as a Gen II Ultimate
  15. You should check out Richard Cheese, you can hear some samples on Amazon.
  16. A big, red, round cooker? I have one thing to say to that: "Oh yeah!"
  17. Help! I keep clicking on Sanny's link and it just sends me to a thread where Sanny links to the sticky thread - I'm caught in some sort of recursive loop! It's like how it takes me forever to take a shower because I read the directions on the shampoo bottle: lather, rinse, repeat.
  18. You can also see if they know the terms triangle steak or culotte steak (also replace "steak" with "roast"). I hadn't heard of this cut prior to coming here so maybe it's one of them thar southern words. Maybe Sanny can enlighten us on the greater NJ area city-folk term...
  19. Is it just me or does anyone else have an urge to head down to the pond with a portable air compressor? I wonder if I can get a helium tank...
  20. I read about this chemical that they're finding all over the place. It's found in the groundwater close to toxic waste dumps, it's a primary component of acid rain, it's even found in food that's been seared as well as malignant tumors - that correlation is too strong to deny! People have died from just a few teaspoons of this stuff and yet some companies are dumping it by the truckloads into our rivers. I thought I'd post this here so you can all get informed about the evils of Dihydrogen Monoxide.
  21. Have a great time! Just to clarify, are you flying to the US or are you flying to California? We on the Atlantic generally consider those two to be mutually exclusive
  22. All I have to say is that our recipe section welcomes you whole-heartedly! Keep 'em coming!
  23. I just got my gift 10-pack. The gift portion isn't much to speak of (a standard thin pretty box and some tissue paper inside the shipping package) but you do get a nifty Dizzy Pig pin and I saved $2. There's a little brochure that comes with it which is handy to keep around for when the Dizzy newbie is trying to decide what to use on a meal. None of the seasonings look like they'll never be used, but I can certainly see the Swamp Venom running out much faster than most of the other ones. If nothing else, at least get the sampler pack - you'll be missing the Shakin' the Tree and Raising the Steaks it looks like, but at least you'll be able to cheaply taste the rest. Given the anticipated shipping to Oz I'd agree with Sanny and just order them all. Make sure you ask them to pack it upside down so it doesn't spill out when it arrives down under
