  1. I got a Johnnyboy cover : John Edwards E-mail Address(es): [email protected] He has excellent response, service and quality.
  2. Yeah really, 2k of stainless. Don't underestimate the difficulty and labor to get that stainless to make those curves! If it were easy I would have had a hammered copper unit many moons ago.
  3. Firemonkey wrote: Aesthetically speaking then, the symmetrical design is a trade-off for an integrated hinge ?... The hinge cover on the classic is in the back and can be situated so that it is not noticeable. It is far superior to the mexi design with the tubes on the side with manual sets. Its function is far superior as well. I have not had mine long enough to weigh in on the heat distribution question.
  4. Curly wrote: Yeah....I could not get the tile company to drop ship from over in that region, even though they are an international company. In fact their international division was going to charge me considerably more (full retail) than their local factory store for the tile. Maybe Dennis should add tile importer to his business plan
  5. Bobkat, Unfortunately I have heard of this happening before either on this forum or the mexi forum. I asked to make sure they had a liftgate....thought I covered all the bases....they did not show up after they had scheduled me on a Friday delivery and I had to wait until Monday.
  6. Thank you...I'm not sure what the actual cost difference between a pretty and ugly penny is . Custom tile is not an easy path for a KK and I recommend you contact Dennis for all the details. For the slate tile, Dennis did not have a source over there. I purchased and shipped the tile from Calif. I do not know of the origin of the tile for sure, but I think it was India. If that is the case, it crossed the ocean three times!

  8. Bobkat....I did not smell anything with mine except the aroma of ribs! Is your KK being delivered or are you picking it up?
  9. perhaps it a little varnish to help it ignite..
  10. I'm confused here....you said something about moving on up but then you said you just bought a used #9 that was being replaced by a KK? What you cook on doesn't matter, I 'm just confused whether you are getting a KK. trish
  11. I have a few questions about spring adjustment that might be added to the sticky topics. Is the top supposed to fully open when the latch is opened? How to you get the top to fully open? I was setting the spring adjustment wrench at the back between the top and bottom to prop the lid open. When adjusting the spring, what is accomplished with clockwise adjustment, and what is accomplished with counterclockwise adjustment?
  12. Firemonkey wrote: He'd probably prefer a pink shirt to match it. When I saw picture of it before it looked more beige. But the big KK really makes it look more pink! Tim the 'Tool Man' Taylor would just have told everybody the blue was his and the pink was his wife's like the episode when he re-organized their closet. Then he had an alarm that would sound when her pink hangars were hung in his blue hangar section.
  13. What is an R3 supreme plus? Just curious...Maybe one of those BBQ's has Sanny's name on it! Did you ever get any of the terra Cotta tiles in? That's one of my favorite colors. Maybe Firemonkey would like one more so he could have a threesome
  14. kind of like a BBQ on training wheels!
  15. And nobody should complain about it if they are eating the food that comes out of it either. Its not the color or the size...its the food that comes from it!
  16. Firemonkey....so do you stop and check the BBQ while mowing the lawn? Is that an overnight effort as well? The pink BBQ would make a cute hood ornament for the riding lawn mower! Is the mower pink also? Maybe they make a Barbie lawn mower to match the BBQ. No one has really teased you in a while about that....I couldn't resist .
  17. Bobkat.....Mine arrived in LA around July 1 (it was shipped about June 3 or 4). Then the July 4th holiday hit....It did not get released from customs until last Tuesday. It took a day or two to get transferred from the shipping agent to UPS freight. UPS freight called me Friday at 7:00 a.m. to deliver that day.....then was a no show...It did not arrive in their yard before the delivery truck departed out. They finally delivered late yesterday afternoon. Mine was about 45 days also. You will get a call from the delivery people. Its frustrating I know. It sounds like your was shipped about the same time as mine.
  18. porkchop wrote: Porkchop, That is a great compliment because I know how much you like the textured model...This one turned your head a little! Firemonkey and Tony: There is a picture in the accesories thread that does show a lump bowl with the little legs as you described. As I recall they were to stabilize the basket within the firebox so it would not tip over. I am unsure, but there may have been a design change to eliminate the need for the legs. Curly....last but not least I do know the forum rule of no pics it did not happen. Wish my body knew that rule!
  19. I like nice stuff...nice people...and nice food. Unfortunately I have to leave Sybil 'untouched' for a few days. But ribs are planned first on Thursday.
  20. Firemonkey...Mine is a bowl with handles there is not a base other than the stainless grids..
  21. Hey Firemonkey.....Its not pink but what the heck. I will have to defer to Dennis regarding the question on the lump basket. Are they to support a grill or deflector? Maybe it is so I don't get my nails dirty. There are a couple of items I don't recognize that I will need to get an opinion on. I will get pictures of them. I had to abandon the BBQ to get a few other tasks done before dark
