I think you would need a lot of chilis on the bugs that you BBQ'd. Actually I'm surprised you still have taste buds....I would think they have 3rd degree burns on them.
I think the 'bracket' on the stem of the thermometer is a sliding stop. If you squeeze the tab, it loosens and can be removed. Then place the thermometer through the dome hole and reset the bracket to hold the thermometer against the dome.
Linda has a beautiful green Komodo that has been incorporated into a fabulous interior courtyard with Ipe decking, firepit and water feature. She has a great setting to enjoy her new BBQ, and she will be a great addition to the forum.
KK on central Ca. coast
Linda....welcome you now make the third KK that I know of in this area. LeadDog has one in Paso Robles. I sent you a PM if I can be of assistance.

Ok Whiz one peak at your avatar conveys that!
Stewsan....better get out the camera....I can't believe anyone didn't tell you that without pictures it didn't happen!.....what model did you pick? color?....and look out for Curly, he can't seem to drive a new tractor without tearing it up....he is the color cop.
Sominus...maybe you should get some help from a couple of the guys on the kamado forum who say that Kamado always answers or calls them back and emails them. Clearly they are the real kamado 'family' and most of us are the 'in-laws' or 'step-children'.
Leaddog.....if you don't want to bother packaging and sending the antlers....I could just pick them up if you left them at the store. Curly might abuse his purdy thang with em.
When I see dead deer I think of Leaddoggie cause he posted about venison alot, including some pics of dead deer. Kind of imprinted the image of Bambi into my head..
Hi LeadDog....I was thinking about you this morning when I drove through Paso....I saw a rather large deer (no racks) lying on the side of the road (46) and figured you didn't get to it soon enough. I was also stuck behind a semi hauling a load of winegrapes and thinking it was your busy season. You are probably too busy with the crush to be hunting.
