That certainly works for me and my tummy! Nice spatchcocked yard bird. Kudos.

Tony, that is one seriously delicious cook! That's a great money shot. Kudos to you!

I think Dennis prefers email. He checks it most often. You can always call. From my experience, Dennis will always get back with you ASAP. -
@FastGlass - Beautiful cook! Kudos!

I'm swinging from both sides of the plate with my two KKs. First came TheBeast. Given his size, it only seemed a natural moniker. Then came Beauty!. That just kind of flowed ... Beauty! and TheBeast. I think you get an idea of what the name should be given the circumstances when you first start cooking on the KK. Just me and as @tony b knows so well, I'm just a bit twisted!

Charles - there are few things that beat fresh corn done on the KK. This is high season for corn and I'm loving it. That is great looking corn and that chicken is beyond words. Very nicely done. Kudos to ya!

My New Friend, The Toad!

Tony, what's that old saying: If you can remember the 70s you didn't do enough drugs! -
@twharton - I think I would step back from the petroleum jelly. I'm not a big fan of using any kind of heavy petroleum product in any of my kamados. Ceramics are like sponges soaking up all kinds of fumes. Now I realize that the KK is refractory, but still I don't want to go there. I use a Benzomatic MAPP torch to light lump in both my KKs. It only takes a 20-30 second burst and in 15 minutes I'm good to go.

A little sooner than expected and hello from NC
CeramicChef replied to Nuprin's topic in Forum Members
Nuprin - good to see you here! You are not going to believe how easy it is to cook on your new KK. You'll find that the KK just seems to make your cooks easier at every turn. Looking forward to your posts and pics! You're about to understand the true meaning of The Obsession. -
Kenny! I like your approach. If I got rid of either of my KKs, my kids would have me committed, nullify the deal, and take possession of the KKs! Can't have that now, could we?
-
@xraydoc - welcome to the world of KK and welcome to The Obsession! I own a black pebble 32" known as TheBeast and it's the finest cooker I've ever owned. You will find your KK BB 32 to be the easiest cooker you've ever used. Everything about the KK is so well thought out you find yourself wondering why you ever delayed your purchase. Welcome again; it only gets better from here!

Back to back home runs! Touch 'em all, take a bow, and tip your cap to the cheering crowd! Kudos all over for these.

@MacKenzie - both Tony and I are engineers. That explains everything one needs to know. Engine School warps one's mind in so many ways! -

@tony b - did anyone ever tell you that you're about half a bubble off plumb!? -
Susan, that's one seriously nice pizza pie! I'd love to take a bit or two or... three of four pieces. Very nicely done. Kudos to you? Inquiring minds wanna know ... did Charles do any consulting?

Looks as if they are fitting right in. Beautiful setting. Congrats?

My New Friend, The Toad!

@MacKenzie - that's the whole idea! I moved my new Buddy to put him in the shade under some bushes and he never even tried to get away. Nice Toad! -
Dear Friends! After looking at the @MacKenziephotos of all the fauna that come to visit her gorgeous setting, I woke up this morning to find a new friend in the "yard". I wasn't out there more than a couple of minutes when The Bosses came out to inspect. They decided The Toad wasn't worth playing with. All he did was just sit there. It's getting on to mosquito season the The Toad is a welcome addition to the family!

Now that's funny!
-
@MadMedik - you're so right ... you can cook a LOT of meat on these KKs. I've had 10 butts on TheBeast before for a charity cook and that KK BB 32 handled it easily. Dennis' creations never cease to amaze me. That cook of yours looks like Pure D 100% 24 Karat goodness on a grill! Kudos to you!

Let's just say the Cheerleader became the second lucky entrant in the Next Ex Mrs. Ken Contest! No matter what, I thought enough to ask her to marry me, she was the Mother to my 2 wonderful children, and she did a helluva job raising them to be great people. Even though we didn't make it, she's a fine lady and I'll never say anything bad about her.

It just struck me that the inventiveness displayed here by all my KK Friends far outstrips anything I see elsewhere. I wonder if there's a correlation ...

Susan, simple is all I really know. Simple mind => simple meal! I don't have the attention span for anything complicated!
