Firemonkey, I think everyone gets strangled by their personal security blanket in this hobby (at least once)!
-
Firemonkey - dadgummit all anyway. Amazon keeps trying to get me to buy those things. I've been able to resist. Now your review is making me want to go buy some. But $7 buys a lot of butcher twine. How durable do they seem to be?

Hell, I had 75 year old knees at 25! So what does that make me? (besides stupid!) I swear I really don't feel much older than 25, but then I look in the mirror. Bald and gray. But there is this gleam in my eye and this ornery streak in my soul! Watch out world, I'm just getting started.

Tony - I"m glad its working out for you. I never had any doubts, but it's still good to get that kind of feedback. Have you though about contacting FOGO itself and seeing about a shipment of FOGO? Here's the website for TheRealBBQ.com Tell 'em I sent you. You won't get a discount, but at least they won't hang up on you!

Ryan - Why do you think I posted that pic? :LOL!: I couldn't Photoshop a picture of a penny! I know nothing about Photoshop and at my age, don't want to learn. The learning curve is too steep. I quit the learning business about 5 years ago and live has never been more tranquil!

Nobody outside "The KK Club" understands that Dennis throws himself into every deal FOR FREE! Other folks brag about great customer service they get. They don't have Dennis. If they only knew what Dennis adds to the whole experience, they'd be so jealous.

Exactamundo! True words have never been spoken! KUDSO, Mackenzie! I was never much of a baker. I really only did pizza. Now that I'm branching out and doing some breads (I even bought a KitchenAid Pro 600 mixer) and am taking baking lessons from a friend who is a major league baker, I do so appreciate the KK baking stone. My friend, who is teaching me to bake, is amazed at the stone. He truly thought I was going to compromise his recipes. This guy is an award winning baker and he's a believer. He now uses TheBeast for about half of his baking these days. And it's all about the constant temps in TheBeast, the baking stone, and the flavor added to his recipes by the FOGO lump. TheBeast, the KK baking stone, and FOGO lump. Now that's a TRIFECTA!
-
FOGO, I'm telling you FOGO. Just good old 100% lump from renewable resources. Try it, you'll like it!

I'm 61. I turn around and look back and I'm astonished how quickly I went from being the youngest kid in the room to that old fart sitting in the corner!
-
MacKenzie - all y'all up there in NS are more than welcome to sit on my patio anytime you would like. I've got a spare room, lots of lump, and plenty of protein to put on the grates. All I ask is that cook those inimitable sides of yours!

Don't you just hate how efficient these KKs are?

It seems the old adage "I wish I hadn't waited so long to order my KK!" still holds true. I know that was true for me. Rob, I LOVE that Darth Vader picture. It says it all, especially to the outside world once you are inside. I've always said that if you ask why a kamado that costs so danged much, you would never understand the answer. Then I'm called an elitist prick. I try and explain and all I ever hear is "My wife/spouse would kill me!" I"m still an elitist prick who look at only money. I've been called an elitist prick long before I took delivery of my KKs, but I take it as a badge of honor. The KK experience is very tacit until you begin to really think. Thanks, Dennis!

I've got a controller, but it mostly sits idle. I've found the KK to be so rock steady that I only drag out my puffer when I've got really mission critical cooks that will take hours when I'm unavailable to monitor a cook. I like the security I feel it gives me.

Jon - Happy Wife, Happy Life! Truer words have never been uttered! You know best.

Awwww man! And now you make me wait!? Oliver, this is a wonderful day. And I can wait til I see that pic of your precious daughter in the Big Blue. That'll be the cremé de la cremé of uncrating pics! -
Jon - Redhead Sue will be the Belle of the Office Christmas Party with that cook in the cooler! Absolutely gorgeous bark on that cook! Sue is one lucky lady and you are one very lucky guy! You killed this cook. Congrats and kudos all round. You and Mac came through in spades.

Oliver - I see all those boxes stacked and I just shudder! Getting those boxes unpacked was always my biggest headache, and I didn't have a young family to contend with as do you. My Friemd, I wish you well. Unpacking that KK BB 32" won't seem like a chore though; it'll be an awesome break. Congrats on all things new! -
Always make new mistakes. Esther Dyson One of my favorite quotes!

Tony, I hope you're right about the weather. I just chatted with my Sis in Colorado Srpings and she told me they had snow the other day. I figure what she gets you'll have in a couple of days. I do hope you're right. We had temps here today in the mid 60s today with a ton of sun.
-
Tony - that's a beautiful cook. It's certainly sumptious looking. Enjoy it as I understand you've got some foul weather heading your way out of Colorado. Good luck!

Tomahawk - I couldn't be happier for you! Congrats all over the place to ya. Oliver, while this is not as exciting as the birth of a baby, you'll not forget the delivery of either one! -
Ryan, touch 'em all and take a bow! You hit that cook outta the park. Loved the loaded KK grill pic. I see you like Cholula, too. Have you tried Valencia? Kudos on a great first cook. Kudos, kudos, kudos!

Sewing could get the deal done, but c'mon man … me sew!? I don't even sew wild oats anymore, she won't let me!
