  1. Tucker - those look great! Don't tell me that your neighbor's son shot one of those little key deer down that way?!?!?! (Of course, you might be lucky to get 5# of meat from just one of those little guys!)
  2. Spartan - What a magnificent beast! Oh and by the by, you've got a pretty good looking dog there too! Congratulations on the arrival of your KK!
  3. I have seen some rather heavy items moved with shoulder dollies. Most of the items are square in nature and bottom heavy. Neither is the case with the KK. There is little doubt in my mind that it CAN be done, the question is should it be done? You will no doubt remove every item out of the KK before moving, that is a given. I think the stairs will probably require at least three people safely. This is a heavy, odd shaped cooker. It rolls terrific! Lifting is another animal. You spent a fair amount on this beast; IMHO, I would have at least three people to navigate stairs. I can tell you from experience that four people makes it even easier and no risk of banged fingers or toes!
  4. In the words from Mr. Tom Petty - "The waiting is the hardest part" It gets a whole lot better once it shows up!!
  5. Wow - 12% of you that voted found it through eBay?! Makes you wonder why one isn't posted there now, eh? Just kidding Dennis - I know the auctions have a habit of expiring and needing reposting. For me, I found the KK through my research of the BGE. The word "kamado" started showing up in the BGE forums so I started a Google search and ended up in the Kamado forums. Not long after, I ended up in the KamadoFraud forum through reading a post in the Kamado forum from our very own Porkchop! After reading Porkchops history with Kamado (on the KamadoFraud Forum) and his new liking of the KOmodo Kamado, I ended up here where I lurked quietly on the forum for a bit. After that, it was only a matter of time before I jumped on board! Been happy ever since and I am very thankful for all of you and your great posts since! The learning curve was short thanks to a great product and your helpful posts! So maybe another option should be added to the vote list as "kamadofraudforum"?
  6. Now THAT's cookin' some ribs! Good lookin' cook! Is that rib rack from Dennis?
  7. Good write-up Jeff - I am looking forward to seeing some of the food that comes off your new toy! I have a wok around the house (somewhere) and haven't thought about it in a long time. I picked mine up at a cooking show that I attended while traveling on business. It came with a great cookbook - now where is that stuff?....
  8. Hi Jeff! I met Fred at the Mid-Atlantic BBQ Association Expo last May. Very nice guy to talk with and if you have seen his videos on YouTube, they are quite good! If you are interested about the MABBQA, you can read more about them here: http://www.mabbqa.com/index.html I will do you guys the favor of visiting Fred's Music and BBQ place. He is out towards Reading, PA and I do get out there from time to time. He appears to be one of the better stocked BBQ stores in the area so it is time for a road-trip. I'll take my brother along (smokykensbbq) and get back to you guys with a report. Wayne
  9. tcoliver - Great pics! I know one of the reasons I picked up the KK was to have fun with the family while doing cooks. My son and I love to go outside and cook on the KK! As my daughter comes of age and my newborn gets an interest, I see all three of us out there having a good time! My wife is happy to be cookin' up the sides inside during the winter months! lol Wayne
  10. I sent the link to my brother immediately after I read it (we both had a good laugh!) - Here's a brief description of what you are getting: Japanese Wagyu Beef Ribeye Roast 15 lb. Average Boneless Grade A-5 Item # 369614 Rated 4.667 out of 5 4.7 out of 5 $2,299.99 per Jeff's post above, that is not a typo! Apparently, the economy is not in the toilet for everyone!
  11. I'd like to hear more about the wok when you get a chance Jeff - fire that puppy up in the garage and let us know how it treats you! Even more, I'd like to hear your thoughts on the 19". It looks to be a bit more friendly for apartment dwellers or even Multi-tenant units that don't have the same space as single-family homes offer. All that and only giving up 4" of cook space is pretty nice. You've got 'em side by side, please give us your immediate impressions and then your real-world experiences as time allows - Thanks!
  12. Welcome! And lookin' forward to your posts on the forum! Merry Christmas!
  13. I guess the bright side is that you have that tractor to dig your Komodo out? I hope you get to cook your Holiday meals on it Jeff!
  14. I believe I read on this forum where someone (Bob V?) was using the Mr. Clean magic pads/sponges to clean the KK. Sounded like it was very effective in removing the gunk and not harming the KK...
  15. Looking very good! You will be eating well for a few days with that cook!
  16. Anyone else find the link above to be dead? Not Found The requested document was not found on this server. Web Server at kamado.com Thanks!
  17. Lookin' good Larry! Gotta ask, do those probe wires seem like they are getting pinched? Just curious to know if you would be better served to thread them through the top damper? Just curious...
  18. Nonsense! - Check the one on the far right! I'll be adding pictures of my black beast smoking away in the dead of winter as soon as the opportunity presents itself! KK's are for all year fun! Johnny's covers are for the short periods in between the cooks! Kudos to the KK owner that submitted that pic!! (name escapes me at the moment...)
  19. What a difference when you see the KK Gen 2.2 together with the kamado. The KK looks like it was built using the latest and greatest technologies and the kamado just sorta looks like it was built in the 60's or 70's.... However, I will have to say that your kamado looks to be in good shape! I hope you can recoup some of your costs if your aim is to sell it! Thanks for the great pic and Congrats again on your new KK!! (One last word - I truly do not mean to offend anyone that enjoys cooking on the kamado. I understand it makes great food and I look forward to having many discussions with anyone cooking on any ceramic on this forum!)
  20. Jeff that is some innovative thinking there! Way to recycle!!
  21. Welcome to the forum!! Lookin' forward to seeing some pics!
  22. Mine's still pretty clean in there too Jeff - Don't sweat it, we'll get there! Wayne
