You can set the high and low temps so if the grill gets away from you it will beep you. There are probably better ones out there but I found it works well for the price and peace of mind. Welcome Tom First off welcome to the greatest cooker and forum there is. I am from the eastern shore but one of my calls happens to be Pax River! As far as the long "thing "goes that is part of what Dennis supplies in case you want ot order a rotisserie. The studs screw on to the roti and then they go in the holes on you KK. Some of us use a Guru or Stoker to automate the cooking but boy you sure don't need it. Jim it does not take much to thaw it. Even a candle would do it. Two quick choices are a little heat inside from the draft door or a blow dryer on the outside.

My only way to get a new KK when I had another one was to get my wife involved. Hey it may be red but it sure is a nice new KK that works better than any thing I have ever used. Heck I even call it hers but she has never used it! John

Okay does anyone have a problem with the "top hat" spinning itself closed? I have not figured out a way to keep it from spinning so freely. Any ideas besides wedging something (ouch hot!) between the lid and it? John

Bought one of Dennis's first ones on ebay Once I bought the first one I was sold on KK and the rest is history. I have had two from him now and am as happy as a pig on a grill. John

In the Walmarts try looking in the outdoor/indoor garden center. Year round I can usually find it on one of those big rack type shelves.

This time we are going to Cherry Hill Park outside of Washington DC. Looks like a great place for fun and easy access to the Smithsonian. First time RVing with a group so it should be fun. John

Beautiful! Well how did it taste? I got a laugh out of the meat plate. Yep I user the same one from Pier 1. Got the whole set and then read that they weren't microwave safe! Good looking cook did you have any left? John
