  4. I love kamado style cooking. I enjoyed cooking on BGE. The Komodo Kamado is a different experience way more enjoyable. I hate to sound like a weirdo but I love hearing the latch lock and unlock it’s so precise and well built. Before my KK I was eyeing the Kamado Joe 2. I was really intrigued with all the innovations Kamado Joe was bringing to the their grills. So one day the NEX had a Kamado Joe 2 on display. I really like the idea of a latch to help seal the dome to the base. So I started latching and unlatching the Kamado Joe to see how it felt. After 3 tries of latching the grill the latch broke I was so embarrassed I threw the broken pieces into the grill and walked away quickly. So that incident lead me to my KK.
  5. So I tried hot and fast results were awesome. The low and slow beef ribs were soft, juicy and flavorful. Now chicken on the extended grate. I can’t believe how much more room I have now.
  6. Thanks, I’m doing another slow cook this weekend. I’m not sure if ribs or pork butt but I’m gonna give all your suggestions a try.
  7. Family said the ribs were great. I went in to work for some OT. Our third watch was super short handed so I went in. I’ll eat the ribs tomorrow hopefully they saved me some.

  9. Hi, Dennis all I can say is WOW!!!! The grill is amazing. Every great thing said about the Komodo Kamado is so true. I told my other half this was my last grill but something in me is saying maybe not.
  10. Thanks, I normally can see how much the top vent is open. With the KK I can’t really tell how much it’s open. I’m afraid I’ll snuff the fire but I’m home all day I’ll just watch it. I took several days off of work to cook on my KK. This my get to know my grill time. The toughest decision is its 930 am should I start drinking now? Haha.
  11. Did the venting yesterday 550 for about 5 hours. So today I thought I would give a low and slow cook a try. I had some beef ribs marinating in a store bought Korean bbq sauce for about 3 days. I just put them on the KK. Letting them go for about 5 hours or so. I’ve been fighting the temp for about an hour trying to get to stay around 250 but it keeps creeping up to 325. Oh well there’s always a learning curve.
  12. What does everyone do with the pallet cover? I made a house for the kids.
  13. Steak is done a little over cooked because I got busy with the kids and some home renovations.
  14. Grill has been sitting at 550 for 5 hours, and steaks just went on.
  15. There’s a metal plate in the way after I remove the vent panel. Does that metal plate come out?
  16. Just started the venting process. I have the grill pegged at 550 for almost 3 hours. I’m headed the store to grab some steaks. I can’t let the heat got to waste.
  17. Ok just curious, I watched a couple of videos and I thought that was the ash cleaning door.
  18. I got my 21 KK today!!!! I’m unpacking it now and I will post pics soon. But I’m a little confused there’s no ash door like the 23?? Is this correct???
  19. Congratulations!!!! Your 32 is looking awesome!!! I get my 21 tomorrow. I sold and gave my egg to a good friend yesterday. I’m showing him how to use the egg tonight.
