  1. Re: Man, now I am jealous From what I understand, he is putting lifting handles on the sides now. I will try to find a pic real quick. -=Jasen=- Here it is - viewtopic.php?t=243
  2. Re: First Cook I remember someone saying something about an ear on the top? So what the heck is that - a way of determining the opening amount? I had a grout pit hole on my old grill to gauge by - hehehe. -=Jasen=- PS - Nice pics Tony - thanks!! I am positive nobody here minds if you keep posting plenty more too (if they do - screw'um as I want to see more). -=Jasen=-
  3. Oh, he's gonna really rub it in if his KK gets here before yours. I remember the cooking in the rain days and am so Happy now to have the large porch and be able to go out there to check things out without getting wet. You bet I am!!!!!!!!!! -=Jasen=-
  4. Hahaha - wish I had time this week! Tony, great pics dude! I am sooo envious of you right now. Pork Chop, sorry dude, no simpathies as at least you have a grill to cook on this fourth. -=Jasen=-
  5. Hmm? Hmm, I go and have to work one day only to come home to a forum full of drunks! I'm jealous - ! -=Jasen=-
  6. I hate you man! But you'll be sorry when I fire up the pimped out smokey joe! -=Jasen=- See there, you made me up and post that pic again. Shame on you.
  7. Ok, Ok Ok, I admit, I am typing this post for purely selfish reasons! This was the only thread I did not have the last post in - Mwwwaahahahahaha! Top that Curly!!! I do agree, that this web site has become a sucess and thank Dennis for making what is fastly becoming the most perfect ceramic cooker. I am going to have to reinterate my opinion that once my cooker has shipped, all new ideas/innovations must stop - hehe! Well, at least it was the thought that counted. I am sure Dennis will continue his designs way into the future as he seems like the kind of guy that never leaves well enough alone - continually striving for improvement. (Dennis is reading this thinking Jasen is drunk again - ok well maybe buzzed a little). Keep up the good work! -=Jasen=-
  8. Pics?? Hey, were do the two of you (porkchop & Tony) stand now at getting in your cookers? I want some pics doggone it!!!!!! Especially cooking ones! -=Jasen=-
  9. Hello, been in the forum for a little while, but just noticed this section really. So while I am not a long time ceramic BBQer, I am a fairly long time BBQer (at least for my age anyway). I grew up completely with pit cooking; you did not cook Que unless it was on a spit over a pit! Later on, I started realizing the lazy advantages of over types of cookers so I moved into a small offset smoker/grill combo. Then I bought a Traeger pellet feed grill; the novelty wore off soon when I realized it was horrible at grilling temps. Over the years I also had webers, brinkmans and several others for grilling and smoking. It was not until someone introduced me to ceramics that I realized I could have the best of both cooking worlds - high temp grilling and low/slow cooking. I then got into the K market and thought it was the best out there. That thought slowly turned as I started seeing more and more people with real grill problems being ignored and tormented in their forums. Then I ran across the KK and imediately saw the inovation of an original idea, a cool new & better grill was being made. I knew then, I had to sell the old K and buy the new KK - which is where I am at now - sold the old waiting on the new! On a side note, hobbies include: home theater, electronics/computers/gaming, homebrewing, winemaking, welding/fabrication and obviously cooking! Feel free to email or pm me on any of them! -=Jasen=-
  10. ?? Just curious about when the good folks at EZQue will have a model available for the OBT? Is the ball in your court or their's? -=Jasen=-
  11. Very Nice! Hey, very nice side tables! It is neat about how well Georgia is represented in this forum! At least 6 folks out of the ones that placed location info in their profiles are from Ga - that's pretty good! I guess great Quer's agree this is a cool grill. Hmm, should we claim Gerard is from GA or not? j/k Gerard - we love ya man! -=Jasen=-
  12. Well, since I do not have a new KK yet (ahem- cough - cough - Dennis), I had to break out the ole electric rotisserie oven and make my delicious schweinshaxe recipe. While it will be tasty, I am sure it could have been a lot better on a KK rotisserie. Anyone else here ever make it and want to share a recipe? I have been tweaking on my recipe for a while now - it's not prefect, but man the rejects still tasted good. Oh yeah, it is a must that a German beer be consumed during the making of this recipe (sorry - rules are rules). I am enjoying a nice German kolsch style beer as I type. If anybody is interested in my recipe, just let me know. Oh yeah, just a little FYI. In case anyone was wondering what is going on with my new grill; Dennis is working on some cool new options that should become a reality soon! -=Jasen=- Here is a pic of one done on the old K. Crisping the Haxe!
  13. Just Rub It In!! Argh, ya'll make me sick with all this talk of good cooking, knowing that I have no grill at the moment!!!!!! Well, almost no grill - I still have the pimped out smokey joe - hehe. I had to break down and go to a local restaurant for ribs yesterday. -=Jasen=-
  14. FAQ Section! Hey Firemonkey, don't know if you got all the info you were looking for, but I posted a FAQ list I made up in the FAQ section of the forum. Most of the questions you had are in that post. viewtopic.php?p=1451#1451 -=Jasen=-
  15. Pics Please? How about some nice KK pics! Would love some of the uncrating too? Thanks, -=Jasen=-
  16. ?? Just curious, what happened? How bad is the damage? -=Jasen=-
  17. Hmm? Hmm - deja vu? There is something familiar about Curly's post. -=Jasen=-
  18. Re: surfin the KK main page... Nope, I'm a afrain not. Just wish I was as close to getting mine as you are to getting yours!! -=Jasen=-
  19. Hmm! Well, I guess I did not really process the dimensions the first time I looked at it. But it is almost 1" square (assuming that is mm) which should be more than strong enough. I still cannot decided if round might be a bit more aesthetic to the eye since the grill is very curving. Though there are plenty of square objects on it too; after all it is made up of lots of little square tiles. Maybe Dennis will make up a couple of different types and post pics for a vote? - hehe Just a thought anyway. -=Jasen=-
  20. Hehe I'm not - just ask Dennis - hahahaha! I have mentioned it before, as soon as I get a few days off, I will try to compile all the questions I have asked and maybe some of the others to make a FAQ post. -=Jasen=-
  21. !!!!! You know, Dennis, if you keep this kinda stuff up, your gonna have the perfect grill here before long. Thanks, -=Jasen=-
  22. Yo Dennis, I see from your profile your into Thai food. So how about some Thai recipes?? I prefer some spicy ones Thanks, -=Jasen=-
  23. Cool! That is pretty cool Dennis! How did you know I wanted a teak handle to go with my teak side tables - hehehe? You mention new latch; are you referring to the Komodo and Kamado lettering on each side only, or has the SS mechanism itself changed any? I really like it, but is the wood portion of the handle too thin (was worried about it breaking) or is is supported with SS through it's center? Maybe a rounded handle would tweak me more. I broke out my awsome drawing skills again and drew up a couple ideas. One is two piece wood, the other is two piece SS bracket. Not exact - hehe - but it represents if you overlook the obvious crappy drawing abilities. No making fun of this one Curly!!! -=Jasen=- Did not really show up too well, but the two piece SS handle would meet in the center of the teak handle.
