Man, you must have a much more serious Dremmel tool than mine. That hunk of SS looks around 4" diameter and close to 1/4" thick. My Dremmel would give up looking at that...hehe. But the extension sounds good. -=Jasen=-

Hey Whizzy, do you happen to have info on the latest changes or firmware for the Procom? -=Jasen=-

Yup, remove the four screws to access the 9v. It is however a lithium and it is only for monitoring if the ac power source fails. It should not need replacing for a long time. I also use lithium cells in the remote and have never had an issue arising from leaving them installed. Of course I do use it often, so that should be taken into account. The clip is flimsy, but that also allows you to bend it around to fit tighter too. But it will not take bumping. Cell phone case would be a better idea is the belt clip is desired. Wish there was a way to adjust backlight timing. I have asked them for it before. Maybe they will add it to a future firmware update as they have added numerous things since the earlier versions. Finally updated mine last year. You can always check the super user menu to see if it is in your firmware version. BTW, what is their lastest....it shows during bootup? Sounds like maybe they changed the plugs too. The probe plugs on mine are basically an S-video plug wired to two thermocouples. So two probes on one plug. Here are some hints & tips if you need any getting started. viewtopic.php?t=913 -=Jasen=-

Dude, I am sooo pissed off right now. I can't believe you didn't come to my house and pick up that grill so you could cook for me!!!! Fish tacos are my favorite. I got stuck with Firemonkey and he did not cook anything for me. I had to cook for him and let him drink my beer.....jeez....what a bad guest. -=Jasen=-

I can't tell for sure from the pics, but is the air mix cover over the burner throat (bell looking area) still in place? If so, take that completely off or open it fully as you do not need it and it could be cutting off air from entering the mixing area. If you look at my pics, mine is removed. -=Jasen=-

Wait a minute, wonder how come they never offered me breakfast? -=Jasen=-

Re: disgusting Gee, why don't you tell us how you really feel then? Typically a boston butt will break apart easily when fully cooked at those muscle groups....then this device easily used. Being real, I don't think it is intended for someone breaking up one butt. Not really worth the purchase or effort unless you are doing a bunch. Though there is the cool gadget factor for those of us who like such things.

Damn, why didn't I think of this. Ultimate lazy man's way of pulling pork. Well, this is not a review, but will be soon as this is next on my list to build. I like his motto..."Pulling your pork has never been more enjoyable"...hehe... Anyway, if someone has this, let us know how it works? http://www.porkpuller.com/ Video: -=Jasen=-

Larry, have to admit, I was pretty skeptical and nervous about possibly ruining a meal with this technique. Was glad I risked it tonight as it was an excellent steak. Noticed while rinsing off the salt that care had to be taken as the steak was close to fall apart tender already. Did 45 minutes of salting combined with blackening season and the taste was perfect while the bone in ribeye was super tender. Been a long time since I have seen anything really different and interesting to try with with steaks. Thanks for posting it. -=Jasen=- BTW, I really loved this explanation!!

Playing with adjustments would be the next step. Here are some pics of the flame with a standard low pressure regulator (<1psi or ~ 10"WC) and everything properly adjusted. If I recall from my thread, 525 degrees was achieved.

Re: No pressue on propane gas burner Might wanna check that there is a jet orifice installed. Should be a tiny hole at the end of the gas line, opening into the burner bell (air-gas mixing area). Otherwise you will not develop the pressure. If it is there, you may try adjustments. Here are some pics (old ones). http://www.komodokamado.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1515

Just to clarify, my thoughts were for a very tiny raised ridge, not necessarily a V. But the purpose was just to reduce some of the surface area contact with the gasket and same deal with the small metal ring idea. I do not see where that would damage a gasket. As far as condensation, hell the inside of my grill sweats already, so I am not worried about it dripping back in from the damper (would be nice to help keep the outside clean if it works..). BTW, I agree with the grease buildup and high temp cooks as only my low and slow grill gets this buildup. But I have never had to hit it with a 2x4...hehe. -=Jasen=-

I mostly use PS3 Media Server now as it is extemely easy since there are no additional codec packs to install. My main use is streaming all my TV shows that I download as the DVRs get full quick and some shows are not available in my area. The nice part is I can download them in a high def format and PS3 Media Server can stream them that way. Unlike Windows Media server which can only handle H264, PS3 server can use x264 which is way more common to internet junkies. It also handles most all of the lossless audio formats out there such as OGG/FLAC/MPC/APE.

JD, are you using Tversity or PS3 Media server for streaming to your xbox? If not, I highly recommend either of them. Though the PS3 Media Server handles x264 high def content way easier. And either of them stream almost all video/audio/pic formats out there to the PS3 and/or Xbox 360. To me, they are much better than using media center (since it drastically reduces the formats/containers you can use on your media). Plus they are both free. http://code.google.com/p/ps3mediaserver/ http://tversity.com/

Yup! Still using that method with much satisfaction. http://www.komodokamado.com/forum/viewt ... t=portrait

Yup, mine's still working like a charm. Love it.

Yeah, since you brought that up, seems like I remember reading about it somewhere. Guess I did not realize it was for fans too (thought only for TC). The Stoker definitely gets major points for versatility. Just wish we could create a Stoker/Guru monster to combine the best of both worlds. -=Jasen=-
