  1. I use Royal Oak as it can be found at most of our local Walmart stores and is a good charcoal to boot! Cowboy is sold at Lowes. -=Jasen=-
  2. Hey Dennis Not sure how much shipping would run to Indonesia, but I have one of these and it does a great job. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templ ... &noImage=0 Still expensive, but not quite as much as the bigger commercial jobs. Though if I had to do it all over again (or had found this one first), I would buy it: http://www.sausagemaker.com/index.asp?P ... rodID=1163 -=Jasen=-
  3. Work! And nap! hehe Probably at the same time. -=Jasen=-
  4. I forgot about it and went to sleep. hehe I will just have to live vicariously through your photos - hehe! -=Jasen=-
  5. Hello, any one wishing to view a black OBT Gen II in the Augusta, Ga area, just drop me a PM or email! -=Jasen=-
  6. Just a little area that I thought might make it easier for potential buyers to find folks willing to show off their KK. Keep it simple, I would not post any address or phone number details, use the PM system or email for that purpose. Make sure to put a city and state in the subject; I would state the color and type of KK in the body of the post (OBT, OBT GenII or Classic). A pic would be great too. If there are more than one person in a particular city, just add it to that thread. Start a new thread for each city. Please, this area is just for new buyers wanting to get a look at a KK. No additional posts in this area please, keep it simple and easy to find without having to wade through a bunch of posts! -=Jasen=-
  7. Nice looking beef dude. On the remote thing. Try this, cut the base on first, then turn on the remote. If that does not work, cut the remote on first and then the base. I cannot remember which way it works, but there is a particular order they have to be turned on in order for most to sync up. -=Jasen=-
  8. What's your TV (or other output) side connection device? That was were a cheap original xbox came into play for mine. Any video type, audio or pics can be decoded with a modded original xbox. With the right software on the PC, the new xbox 360 consoles can also handle any video (including high def). BTW, if you are into newsgroups (that is where I get all my TV shows), there are groups dedicated to lossless audio codecs already (so it would save you ripping). I used to use a raid array, but since speed really wasn't an issue, nor safety of backed up data (since it is just media), I went with a half Terra SATA drive after my last raid setup died. -=Jasen=-
  9. I thought it was a nut cracker. -=Jasen=-
  10. Guess I am just gonna have to ban a few of them for a while to let'em know whose the straw boss around here. hehe Jeez, who let all of them outta there cages tonight anyway? -=Jasen=-
  11. Damn, first reply efforts were foiled by my lengthy message - oh well - all in good fun. Try and overlook Gerard, it took a while, but the rest of us already do so. -=Jasen=-
  12. Hello! Welcome to the forum! Good timing on your wife's delay huh? hehe I think your second look will be well founded. Have a look around, ask a few questions and hopefully stay a while! -=Jasen=-
  13. Yup, we need more pics and soon - hehe. Would like to see the new KK in her surrounding setting too! Got a boston butt or shoulder ready to go on yet?? Come on, lets fire it up! -=Jasen=-
  14. Re: The Komodo held in an average of 65% more heat. I bought a BGE this spring and have been thrilled with it. So far I haven't invented any new recipes but have been amazing my friends and family with simple stuff like $.69/pound chicken simply rubbed and cooked direct at 350o - my dad who's a total curmudgeon actually asked to be invited back next time we make it! The KK looks like an amazing piece of hardware and I'm glad that this forum is a "friendly" as opposed to that other place. Cool. Nothing at all wrong with a BGE. Careful mentioning curmudgeon as our local representative (Gerard) might think you mean him - hehe. Which by chance is also the owner of a BGE (well, either that or a Primo). It is amazing what ceramics do for food, isn't it? I never had a worthy brisket till I made one with ceramics. And you are right about chicken, makes it fantastic! We have people that own all sorts of cookers here. The thing about it is everyone can learn from others, no matter the cooker. So all are welcome here (even non ceramics - though we will tease gassers). -=Jasen=-
  15. Re: The Komodo held in an average of 65% more heat. Be careful though, following your speculation, an oven with no air circulation would be best and we know that isn't the case, especially if you like the whole charcoal/smoke thang. Good to be aboard, thanks for the welcome. Apples and Oranges since we are talking about charcoal grills. But that is why I place a spoon in the oven door when I make beef jerky, otherwise it would take much longer for the beef to dry. BTW, sounds like your in the ceramic game, what are you currently cooking with? Glad to have you aboard! Got any great recipes? Love to have them in the recipe section if so. -=Jasen=-
  16. Thank god you at least had on underwear when you took the pic of the mirror. BTW, whose that other woman in the pic as it don't look like your normal sweetthing pic. You stepping out or something? I'm gonna tell on you!! hehe Hey, nice Polder Port plug, I wonder where you got that from - hehe. -=Jasen=-
  17. Re: The Komodo held in an average of 65% more heat. Actually, I think not. The efficiency of the cooker will definitely affect your charcoal usage but not necessarily the radiant heat hitting your food. I think the big step is moving from a steel cooker to ceramic. Grades of ceramic most likely have less outcome on the food's flavor. One thing I've wondered is if "more ceramic" would take longer for the cooker to come up to temp. KK has come up with a very clever solution by doing that bi material thing. Well in turn, if less charcoal is used, then less combustion was needed to achieve the same temperatures which in turn would reduce the air needed for combustion. Less airflow would arrive at greater moisture retained in the combustion area, so the food would be exposed to less air flow. So potentially you could have affected the food flavor by increasing efficiency. Though I agree the big jump is moving from steel to ceramics. BTW, welcome to the forum! Love the UserNamer - hehe. -=Jasen=-
  18. I was being sarcastic dude - hehe. Of course there are plenty of reasons to mod them. I like using my original console on the bedroom TV with Xbox Media Center installed so I can stream music and video to it. I download all my TV shows with commercials already cut and simply store them on the computer which then streams them to either the original xbox in the bedroom or the new 360 (no modding needed) in the home theater room. No DVR needed! -=Jasen=-
  19. If you've ever seen the rest of that pic, it would really scare you! -=Jasen=-
  20. I am sorry, everytime PC posts something, I keep laughing at that avatar - hahaha! -=Jasen=-
  21. That's why you don't connect the modded console to Xbox Live! But I don't know what your talking about, I would never hack a MS product! -=Jasen=-
  22. Porkchops price at Walmart is for a 10lb bag. So if you are getting a 40lb bag for $4, we wanna buy from you???? hehe BTW, that is the main charcoal I use too. Ridiculous to pay a huge shipping bill for other charcoal when RO does a great job and I have never had to add to a cook either. -=Jasen=-
  23. I think it says more that a person actually got rid of it to buy a KK. But no biggie! -=Jasen=-
