  1. Ah man, that is cold! I gotta admit though, I was thinking that is a pretty small brisket myself. But it has been a long while since I have done just a brisket flat as I usually do the whole packers cut. Does look good; sure wish I had one to chow down on right now! -=Jasen=-
  2. My Valve Assembly! Ok, here is a pic of my valve assembly. Not quite finished. I have a little work to do on the valve (I had to tap a 1/4" valve to 3/8" on one side and that needs a little more depth). I also want to get a spare handle from Dennis and replace my valve handle with his teak handle. Pretty sweet stainless braided hose (had a friend hook me up with the nice valve and braided hose). The valve is reduced to 1/8" pipe thread on one side where it will replace the existing valve. Also, this is an adjustable low pressure propane regulator (man it was hard to find). -=Jasen=-
  3. Damnit, you posted before I had a chance to lock this topic. It was to be an info only thread; oh well! -=Jasen=- Well, I take it back. I guess I should leave it open so folks with real questions can post to it.
  4. I would also like to mention that Dennis is using a 3/8" flare fitting now, which is a very commonly used gas fitting in the US. This fitting will allow a much easier install by picking up a regulator & hose combo from lowes (you can usually find 3/8" flare or 3/8" pipe thread - get the flare). -=Jasen=-
  5. Burner BTU Info?? Hey Dennis, do you have any BTU info on that burner? If we had an approximate BTU range for the burner, we could use the chart on the previous post to get an orifice drill size for anyone wishing to change to natural gas. -=Jasen=-
  6. Well, I wanted to have more time to write an appropriate post for the subject, but that has not come to fruition yet (maybe soon). But short story is as follows: I cannot find anything on the Internet that says there is a difference in standard size pipe verses metric - there are equivalencies for the common sizes as they are internationally standardized. I will post some web links below, but it looks like we should have no safety issues using our fittings with these burners. And from Tony's investigating, he has determined that 1/8 pipe seems to be the appropriate replacement size on the existing gas valve. I am hoping to talk someone into giving me a pretty close measurement on the larger thread where it goes into the burner?? http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/reference/metri ... s.htm#Pipe http://mdmetric.com/tech/tic1e.htm#cht8 I also thought I would re-post this nice gas orifice chart again for those who might need it for natural gas conversion: Low Pressure Chart: http://www.joppaglass.com/burner/lowp_chrt.html High Pressure Chart: http://www.joppaglass.com/burner/highp_chart.html
  7. Mark As Unread! Another new mod I just installed allows you to reset a forum post as unread; basically this is like a bookmark function. It also fixes some of the strange bugs that happen with the read/unread functions of the board. Sometimes you would miss a post leaving the board up or clicking to another web site before you read all the unread only to return and see none. Well this mod also fixes that glitch and will not let a post be marked as read unless you actually view it. I am working on a watch topic mod that lets you select which topics you wish to be notified of, whether you have posted to them or not. So far, it is not cooperating with me yet though. -=Jasen=-
  8. Spell Check Installed!! OK, I have a spell check installed now! So give it a try and see if everything works! The button is just below the new image link at the bottom of the text box. If anyone can think of some features you would like in the forum, just let me know. If I can find them, I will try to add them. -=Jasen=-
  9. I do, but not everybody does. I have had several requests for a spell check; so I am trying to add one. The way it is going, it would be a hell of a lot easier if everyone would just add the google search bar to their browser as it has a built in spell check. -=Jasen=-
  10. Ok, I finally found the old pic posting mod that we used to have. I also left the imageshack one in place too. Just click on the link and follow instructions. I will be adding a spell check soon - hopefully - hehe. Let me know if you are getting any glitches or errors - please! -=Jasen=- Here is a pic of the link!
  11. Fleishkase Well, I had to pick some up today for dinner - Mmmm. It is already smoked, but I like to fry it up for a few minutes and put it on toasted bread with Dukes mayo. Here is a pic of the Fleishkase, Salami and Gelbwurst. -=Jasen=-
  12. I was noticing the same thing. Maybe that is his secret rub - it's not really mustard - hehehe. -=Jasen=-
  13. Jeez Curly, can't you keep the rust off that thing? -=Jasen=-
  14. Awwwwww, isn't that just sweet, the two of you funny boys kissed and made up! -=Jasen=-
  15. dang it deej, i told you, that's THURSDAYS! Hey PorkChop, someone put something in your Wheaties this morning or something? -=Jasen=-
  16. BTW, I like the new wood handle on the low airflow draft door versus the black handle. -=Jasen=-
  17. Nope, not quite yet - that one has the Guru port on the front. I want mine on the back. He also needs to take that damn bow off of it - hehehe! -=Jasen=-
  18. I just had to start a new thread for this photo!
  19. Hehe - actually not - pretty good size hands myself - but I thought it was pretty funny anway. -=Jasen=-
  20. OK, I am refering to the antique looking ones! -=Jasen=-
  21. I have to agree, those are very cool looking indeed. Curly, ya gotta lay off the sauce buddy, your just not seasoned at it like me. -=Jasen=-
  22. Oh yeah, I also forgot to mention that the wood is completely sealed too. Also, look at all of my projects in this section and you will notice that nothing about them had anything to do with ease. I enjoy building the stuff - hehe. I actually had more fun designing and building them than using them. -=Jasen=-
