Used Komodo Kamado

Hey guys thinking about buying this used KK.  I’m trying to figure out if it’s a 23 or 21.  The guy doesn’t know and the measurements he gave me are 19 inch grate and that the entire grill is 23 inches wide.  Anybody have an idea based on the pics?2B935614-867E-4E39-86CC-A146B569F5E3.thumb.png.e1a66f03f06e0173a07d27b9f533e44b.png72A99716-1CA6-4306-9706-7DC17E489048.thumb.png.ef758fd62ed0fd1f879c7ec45cb65a5c.png

23" side to side inner diameter will be your 23. For some reason it doesn't look like my 23, be it the pic or angle it was shot, the top has straighter sides so I'd say it was a 21 by appearance. this is my 23 same pics almost. Notice the sides are rounder. Ask what the inner dia is side to side where the handles are at it's widest, the very top of the refractory,

It looks like a 19" Hi-Cap Tall. Those dimensions are similar to what you describe: 23" outside width; 19.3" inside width at the top of the base section.

Agree with the others, not a 23" KK. A smaller one for sure based upon the shape. Looking at the specs for the 21", I'd agree with Jonj that it's a 19" KK.

It's a decent price. You just need to figure out if it's big enough for your needs?

If the grate from left to right measures 19", then I would say it is probably the 2nd Gen of the standing 19.5" because of the higher dome lid.

I own a 1st gen 19.5".

Left to right measurements:

  • The 23" model measures 22.5" inside.
  • The 21" model measures 21.6" inside.
  • The 19" tabletop model, which is what is presently being sold, measures 19.3".

I'm Selling the In Leander. The Blue Kamado you posted Is a 19" High-Cap. The High-Caps are similar to the current design right? I believe newer versions are a bit wider and have more grates shipped with it?

I believe Dennis has an extensive post on the subject somewhere within these forums.
