mguerra Posted November 22, 2015 Report Posted November 22, 2015 Nope. Go get it looked at tomorrow. Don't wait a week. If it needs a stitch it needs it now. I am f serious. Quote
tony b Posted November 23, 2015 Report Posted November 23, 2015 Listen to Doc, Bosco! I cut my thumb on a broken glass a couple of years ago, and nicked a nerve; even with specialist attention, I have some permanent numbness on one side. Nothing to be messing around with, son! Quote
Poochie Posted November 23, 2015 Report Posted November 23, 2015 The super glue trick really works wonders. After it's sealed and the glue dries, put another really thin layer right on top of the cut. I know I'm a few days late here, but if it's still bleeding or seeping, you need to redo the glue. Put a bandage on after both layers dry. Robert gave a good tip for washing knives. Here's another: Always put the knives in first and always facing the same way. Handles towards you all the time. You'll never grab a sharp blade again. Quote
tomahawk66 Posted November 23, 2015 Report Posted November 23, 2015 I always wash and dry my knives first, a bunch of them aren't stainless so looks like they've helped to keep me away from this danger! Regards, Oliver In Singapore. Soon to be the proud owner of a Cobalt Blue 32 😄 Quote
wilburpan Posted November 23, 2015 Report Posted November 23, 2015 Even though I’m in pediatrics, and Bosco is over 18, I’m going to put in a second medical vote for going to see someone NOW, especially if you think there’s a nerve issue. And at this point, crazy glue won’t help. The time to get a laceration put back together is at the time it happened. Quote
bosco Posted November 23, 2015 Author Report Posted November 23, 2015 good news feeling is back, just some pain and discomfort at the tip from the slice. It has stopped bleeding and I have a good scab forming up. I am going to keep polysporn on it and try and get to the doctor this week if I can just to be sure Quote
tony b Posted November 23, 2015 Report Posted November 23, 2015 While I'm glad to hear that the feeling has come back, like I said based upon my own experience, this isn't something to mess around with. And I NEVER put my knives in the sink. If I don't wash/dry and put them away as I used them, I lay them out on the counter next to the sink and wash/dry them one-by-one and back into the block when I'm done. Quote
CeramicChef Posted November 24, 2015 Report Posted November 24, 2015 +1^ on Wilbur! Crazy Glue/Super Glue hurts like hell and I'm the guy who gets his teeth drilled with no pain killer. I hope you got thee to a doctor, bosco! Quote
GoFrogs91 Posted November 26, 2015 Report Posted November 26, 2015 Youch!! Mandolins are great with fingers too. 🤕 Benton Quote
