Pequod Posted February 2, 2017 Report Share Posted February 2, 2017 Anyone have one of these Roti Baskets? http://www.fillitandgrillit.com I have the flat OneGrill basket like @Shuley uses, but am thinking about a tumbler. The one downside of the Fill It and Grill It is that they are built for only one spit rod size -- apparently no thumb screws to tighten for smaller rods. Hmmm...the ordering info on the right of that page requires you to specify 5/16" square, 3/8" square, or 1/2" hexagon. Very interesting. Limited to 5/16" rods, but loads of flexibility there. Edit: Looks like they have another version of the same thing for 3/8" rods, but it describes thumbscrews for tightening. The veggies started out in the left basket but finished in the right one. Don't they review this stuff before they post it on their website?? I emailed him the question of whether they have a single basket that would work for both a 3/8" rod and a 5/16" rod. He sent me an email to call him at a particular time, which had already passed by the time I saw it. Simple question with a yes or no answer. The pictures at the OneGrill website show that it has holes at each end of the basket to pass your own spit rod through. They have two baskets. My experience with spit rods, both on KK and other cookers, is that anything not tightened will wiggle itself loose in about two turns. The best answer might actually be the cheapest -- supports multiple rod sizes with an adjustable screw: http://www.onegrill.com/Grill_Rotisserie_Spit_Rod_Tumble_Basket_p/4pb11.htm Only issue I see is with the size of the slats. Please consider that as food cooks it will generally shrink, this should be considered when preparing food and filling the basket to ensure no food is ejected as the food cooks and ultimately shrinks in size.
