sfdrew28 Posted September 22, 2018 Report Posted September 22, 2018 All I had left was one box of the coco char which I want to use for a 1/2 pig tomorrow. You think one box is enough for a six hour 225 degree cook? I do, but it’s for my own 50th birthday party and don’t want to screw it up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1
Tyrus Posted September 23, 2018 Report Posted September 23, 2018 Grab a bag of lump and fill in the space just to be sure with some big chunks. Don't like chancing fuel on a cook rather be sure and confident the fire is going to stay. Happy birthday. Gotta crack open one of those boxes in the garage, gotta say though everyone says it burns forever, toss a coin, you feeling lucky 1
MacKenzie Posted September 23, 2018 Report Posted September 23, 2018 sfdrew, Happy Birthday.:) I have never burned a basket of coco but it looks a little on the skimpy side to me.
Tucker Posted September 23, 2018 Report Posted September 23, 2018 I agree with Tyrus; for $20 hit the local hardware store for a bag of lump and fill it in.
tony b Posted September 23, 2018 Report Posted September 23, 2018 Happy birthday! 1/2 box should be enough for your cook, but no harm in playing it safe.
sfdrew28 Posted September 23, 2018 Author Report Posted September 23, 2018 Thanks. I’ll throw some lump on top. I just really love how clean this burns compared to anything else. I’ll post pics of the pig later. Thanks too for the birthday wishes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
5698k Posted September 23, 2018 Report Posted September 23, 2018 The other option is to just have some lump handy. Personally, I think you’re good. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
