Decided to smoke the tofu for a little extra flavour, used the pot with cherry wood for 1.5 hours at 330F. This is Thai tofu so it has some spices added. After 1.5 hours of smoking- Taste samples. Marinating tofu- Now for the veggies that get added to the sweet and sour stir fry- the mushrooms and the toasted cashews. Add the marinating tofu. Plated.3 points

The good news is I shipped a container of Coffee Wood LUMP Charcoal and it came in this week. The bad news is that NYK no longer accepts charcoal shipments in 40' containers. This is a big bummer because I used to put charcoal above the grills in my monthly containers. Argh.. now I need to ship it in 20' containers as semi-hazardous material.. paid for in full. This adds $7.5 to my per box cost on the lump and half that on the coco char. (lump is 2x the volume) I have raised the coffee char only $4 to $28 for the time being.. I'll get you all addicted to it before raising the cost. More good news is that it's truly premium lump designed to give you the most smooth coffee smoke flavor. Only large and medium pieces which have the most organic vapor in them.. The smalls are sold here in the local market.1 point

I basically disagree with these 2 quotes especially the second quote. The second quote is somewhat implying that people using store bought rubs is not serious about BBQ. I would say anyone who spends thousands of dollars on a KK or two is way more serious than most people. As for the filthy rich aspect that is just plain ludacris. I probably have the lowest household income of all KK owners worldwide and I still buy store bought rubs and sauces. There is a lot more to the world of BBQ and grilling then just ribs, butts and brisket. Note: I wasn't going to respond to this post again (other than my first post) but I received a few private messages from members who felt somewhat insulted by this thread. And yes we all realize that wasn't the original intention.1 point

Holy crap! This thing is something. I didn't have a lot of time cause I had to get to work but I was able to get it off the pallet and in position. Still need to install the side tables. Being by myself I had to use the provided crowbar to take the top off of the crate. No big deal. Damn this thing is heavy! Hope the pics turned out ok. I did have a concern though. The 2 sides to the firebox were a bit shifted and while trying to adjust them I saw that they wouldn't sit down on the ledge. Maybe a 3/8 gap. I was able to get them flat with each other but not down to the ledge. Is this normal? Anyway other than that in very happy with my new KK. Can't wait to get home and get the side tables on and fiddle with it.1 point

Yeah, Bosco was the one that turned me on to Lane's. So far (fingers crossed), I've only had 1 Kickstarter not go through. The Admins pulled it and no one was charged. Some issue over patents. As I recall, the only time you don't get charged is if they don't make their funding goal. No guarantees that the product will ever be successful and reach the market. In my limited experience, almost all of them go way beyond their original schedule - a year or more delay is fairly common in getting into production. Often what happens is that they reach their target funding goal so quickly, that they increase the goal to fund "bells and whistles" that should wait until after initial product is designed and manufactured. It's these "bells & whistles" that create the delays, as they try and do too much, too quickly.1 point

Well I got this beauty a little over 2 weeks ago and have cooked on it almost everyday and I just want to thank Dennis for making the best product on the planet I owned a Thank you for long time and to be honest I thought I had one of the best cookers out there I mean I had moist food and the cooker was fantastic I dont think you can take away from any of the ceramic cookers but the KK is just better on every level I can't believe every time I cook on it how moist the food is how delicious it is and the engineering that went into this is unreal Dennis has thought of everything with 3 levels of cooking a guru port all ready to go the vents any little adjustment drops temp or raises is effortlessly .if you are on the fence with this purchase don't be as soon as you get it the purchase price will fade from your mind and when you cook on it you will forget it all together I don't regret getting this at all for one second. the bank teller looked at me super funny when I wired Dennis the money for the KK but going through every review I could go through and talking to everyone on the forum and then talking to Dennis I had no worries sending money to someone half a world away and Dennis is simply the best business owner out there, he is a no pressure what so ever and when you call your getting him not an answering machine and mind you I have called him at all hours even late hours and he is on other end and I asked a ton of questions and he was right there every step of the way walking me through the process it was a smooth transaction every step of the way . With that being said a very big thank you to Dennis for bringing this product to us, it is simply amazing and the pictures do this no justice you really have to see it in person to see this work of art sometimes I can't stop touching it lol Dennis to all the forum members here the support is second to none and is a wonderful family atmosphere thanks to @CeramicChef and @bosco you made my decisions a lot easier.. in closing I am a very Happy camper this is the best purchase I ever made1 point
