  1. Congratulations Jeff! I'm right outside of Atlanta with a (compared to your 42) tiny Big Bad 32 Welcome to the club.
  2. Greetings otter, I have a BB 32 and use a 4CFM blower with no problems. These sookers are extermely efficient without using a Guru. I use mine every blue moon since I have it and it usually sparks conversation with guests. If you purchased a 10CFM blower, you would have to partially close the damper on the blower. A 25CFM blower is not recommended. Good luck and keep us posted.
  3. Thanks for the inspiration. I need to give this a try.
  4. All of a sudden, my BB32 seems like a mini version. Are there any special shipping instructions other than you will need a crane to unload this Beast on a reinforced concrete pad? All joking aside, that is a thing of beauty. I am seriously keeping my eyes on this one.
  5. I'm impressed and jealous! Do you think you would have the same smoke results if Apple wood chunks were placed in foil as well as on the coco char the same way that the chips were?
  6. @Syzygies, Thanks again for letting us know of the 25% off sale. I took advantage of the opportunity and purchased the VP215. It is definitely something that I do not want to pick up and move too many times. Therefore, I'm currently looking for a cart to set it on to move (roll) in and out of the kitchen as needed. Syzygies
  7. Thanks for the heads-up. Unfortunately, it seems that I missed the (30% of) promotion. I've signed up for their newsletter and special promotions in anticipation of this type of opportunity in the future.
  8. Well deserved accolades Dennis!
  9. That is a thing of beauty in the making Dennis!
  10. Merry Christmas to you and your family Dennis. AND Merry Christmas to all of the forum members. I've been away for a minute in terms of posting. However, words cannot express my gratitude for all of the knowledge that has been freely shared on this forum. Thanks a million!
  11. That's great news Dennis. I will contact you regarding a double pan for the BB 32. Thanks!
  12. Nicely done. One tip for consideration: Cover the top of the turkey with foil (once it reaches a nice, brown coloring) to prevent the skin from getting too dark. The skin may not get as crispy as without the foil, but the skin's coloring will not be as dark as in your photo.
  13. LarryR, Thanks a million for the ice on turkey breast tip. I completely forgot about this essential step. Do you like the turkey with the pecan wood over the cherry?
  14. I'm definitely interested in the double walled for the BB 32".
  15. That certainly made me hungry! Did you use any particular wood chunks? Any additional details are greatly appreciated.
  16. This thread made me hungry:-) Very nice looking food you have there.
  17. If you want to preserve your drippings, I would place it on top of the heat deflector, just to be safe.
  18. Thanks for the info tony b. I just ordered two of them for early xmas presents. Strange, but I did not have a problem copying and pasting your link (directly from Amazon.com's site (see below). I'm using Windows 7 on a PC, and Google Chrome, if that makes a difference Your link - www.amazon.com/Fastest-Accurate-High-performance-Professional-Thermometer/dp/B00GRFHVSQ/ Link directly from amazon.com - http://www.amazon.com/Fastest-Accurate-High-performance-Professional-Thermometer/dp/B00GRFHVSQ/
  19. Hello TopHat, While I do not know who else has a 32 besides Susan, I can tell you about my experiences with a 32. I do burgers, hot dogs, steaks, low and slows, pizzas, reverse sears, indirects, directs as well as other things with the 32. When used, it is normally for preparing food for about 14 people (90% adults) and growing. I do not use a basket splitter and really do not use as much fuel (lump / extruded coconut) as I anticipated due to the size of the 32. The 32 is used an average of 4 days/nights per week regardless of the season. I thought that I would need a blower to regulate temps, but quickly realized that I did not with the 32. It is a well designed and very efficient grill/oven/smoker or whatever you would like to call it. As strange as it sounds, I am contemplating acquiring an additional 32! You will be pleased with the 23 or 32. Just remember "It is better to have and not need than to need and not have" when it comes to these beauties. Good luck!
