  1. That appears to be a complete success. Then only problem I see is that the grates are too clean!!
  2. Looks great, Wilbur. That duck has a beautiful golden brown color on him. Good job.
  3. Way way back in the day when I was 16, I worked at McDonalds. Yes, I had to club dinosaurs out of my way to get to work back then. They used REAL potatoes that were put in an auto peeler. Then we would put each one through a press to make the fries. Next step was to wash them 7 times in a giant sink. On wash number 7, the water was crystal clear. They were blanched for 5 minutes and then held waiting for the second and final fry to actually serve a customer. They were the best fries MickeyD's ever had. Now they use frozen. What does this has to do with the current discussion? I have no idea. But that's how the pros did it in the Jurassic days.
  4. Never heard of a low country boil, but I'm down here in Cajun country. The mudbugs are going to have to wait for about 3 weeks when the season opens again. I'm sure the price will be higher than a giraffe's a$$.
  5. I agree. I'd eat that in a New York minute.
  6. I don't regret purchasing the green one and then the red one a while back. They introduced me to ceramic cooking and I enjoyed them. However, my main gripe was that I couldn't get real BBQ smoked flavor out of them. They were excellent grillers. Along comes Bolo (my Komodo) and the whole "ceramic's can't make authentic tasting BBQ" goes out the window. I had a slew of different smokers, including a 1/4" thick steel offset smoker...my Komodo kicks all their 's without trying. While the offset produced good BBQ, you have to tend to it every 30 minutes of so to add another split or two. Not so with the Komodo. It's as close to set and forget as you can buy. I use mine at least 4 times a week and I still love it as much as I did the day I got it. If you're on the fence about getting one, jump off the fence and call Dennis and get ready to enjoy a whole new level of BBQ bliss.
  7. There's pork and green onion sausage, fresh corn, taters, lemon, shrimp, and the papery thing is a head of garlic that comes out nice and easy to peel. Good meal and for a change of pace, wasn't cooked on the Komodo.
  8. Nice looking taters MacKenzie. That last batch looked like winners.
  9. Original thinking at its best!!
  10. It's on sale right now with free shipping if you still want the rotisserie motor. I'm 99% sure this is the motor you need, but they don't specify that it's for a Komodo any more. The OLD code for it was 4pm05KK. But now that product is discontinued. However, the current listed motor spins in the same direction as mine does...clockwise looking into the motor. So maybe it'll work just the same. Dennis might know for sure. If you put komodo in the search block, it returns nothing. Product Code: 4pm05 appears to be the new code. It has a 35 pound balanced capacity. Link: http://www.onegrill.com/SearchResults.asp?Search=4pm05&Search.x=0&Search.y=0
  11. Great idea, ckreef. It may come in handy one day, but I hope not!
  12. Nice looking brisket, tiny. You'll have some yummy sandwiches this week!
  13. Those look like "proper fries" to me. Crunchy is what I aim for and those look like crunchy critters.
  14. Aren't you glad I didn't mention the doob you're toking on? Doh!!
  15. Beautiful yardbird, ckreef. That rotisserie makes chickens taste so delicious. Glad to see you're getting good use out of owning two Komodos.
  16. Nice cook vkl. Looks like you're using every square inch of that grate surface.
  17. Great looking pizzas, tiny. I wouldn't mind having a piece of those for breakfast this morning
  18. Nice set up. I know a dude that will cut grills like that exactly like you want them. I may have to give that a try.
  19. Poochie

    Beef ribs

They look yummy from this end.
  20. Looks great to me. I've never tried smoking cheese. I eat it as soon as I get it.
  21. Poochie

    Beef ribs

Very nice looking ribs. Looking forward to seeing the finished product.
  22. Tony, you went all out with that costume...even so far as to dye your beard grey!! It actually matches the color of mine. Your food looks delicious. Dennis, you can put that picture in your ads and say "buy a Komodo from me or we'll kill you!" Mackenzie, that looks like a studio shot. Is that really you??
  23. Congratulations dude. Beautiful Komodo and all the goodies that go with it. I have no doubt that you two will keep that sucker busy year 'round. Save one of those burgers for me too!
  24. I'm guessing you have a good distance to haul it. Loading it on that trailer and then driving it to where its final resting place will be? Anyway, congratulations and we're waiting to see some unpacking photos and that all important first cook.
