  1. I'm pretty sure I'll choose a DigiQ or CyberQ vs a Stoker. Seems like the Stoker is more complicated from the reviews I've read. Like I said, the controller won't be a way of life, it'll be for those overnighters and when I have to put something on the KK and leave for a while.
  2. OK, that must still mean that the Weber rotisserie motor could have done the job. Probably not handle the load that the One Grill does, but the Weber will be my backup just in case.
  3. I'm impressed! I will positively try your recipe when I get my KK.
  4. Thanks for the info, guys. I received my rotisserie motor today and it says "reversed" for KK on it, but I when I tested it out, it rotates in the same direction as my Weber rotisserie. Sound right? The direction is clockwise when looking into the drive side.
  5. Fish cheek are tasty morsels. Bass cheeks are the best in my book.
  6. Thanks, egmiii, I'll check that link out in a while.
  7. I have an outlet under the backyard patio. The signal is good there. From there, it's only about 35 feet to where the KK would be sitting. That might be my best bet. Thanks!
  8. Good to hear that you don't have to do a lot on tweaking with internet and router settings with the CyberQ, CC. I really hate messing with that stuff. If it's really plug and play, I'm all for it. My wifi signal is not the best in my shop where the KK will live. I'm hoping that doesn't affect it.
  9. I have the rotisserie basket coming with my KK and the motor is on the way as we speak. The only thing I've ever rotisseried (if that's a word) is yardbirds that you typically stab to death and rotate until done. There's another post about cooking a beef roast on here and I'm wondering if the basket can accommodate a beef roast over 5 pounds or so. I'm thinking even a trimmed rack of ribs might work too. I know that unlike a rib-o-lator that the ribs would actually rotate, but it just might work. What are some none chicken items you've done rotisserie style?
  10. I wouldn't worry too much about it. This is a great forum but I don't think it's published in the Wall Street Journal. Doesn't even make the 6 o'clock news. That being said, if there was no spell check on my computer, my typing would look like hieroglyphics.
  11. That's a very nice setup you have and a beautiful cooker. Your butt recipe sounds interesting enough me to give it a try when my KK arrives. I love peanut butter. And honey and anything that looks like food. Keep us updated that cook!
  12. When I had the Pitmaster IQ, I used it for about 5% of the cooks I did. It's those overnighters that beg for one of these units. You can stabilize a pit and go to bed knowing that it's humming along at 250 or whatever, but I guarantee you'll wake up early and run outside to see "if everything is alright." I don't have to have one, but I can see using it for those 5% overnight cooks or cooks you need to leave for whatever reason. Thanks for the input guys. DigiQ looks nice without the wifi stuff tacked on.
  13. How many of you are using a CyberQ, DigiQ, or Stoker on your KK. Any other brand maybe? I used to have a PitMaster IQ for a Weber Smoky Mountain and it worked like a champ. No real features to brag about, but a good basic temp controller. Now they do everything but bring the meat in and slice it for you. Pro's and con's of what you're using would be appreciated.
  14. It's impossible to correct. That way everyone can see your mistake. I'm sure someone can fix it. If not, there's always night classes.
  15. You guys have to remember that a marriage is a 50/50 deal. She tells you what to do, and you do it. My mother in law told me I married Mrs. Right. I just didn't know her first name was Always.
  16. Thanks DaveyR, I can't wait to get the shipping notice and then it's the wait for the trucking company to deliver it. His spot is ready to go. Just need the KK now.
  17. No way MacKenzie! That joke is older than I am. High school here is 9,10,11 and 12.
  18. Another great cook! Looks absolutely delicious!
  19. That MacKenzie is talented. She's a good cook, good photographer, and probably was home coming queen all 6 years of high school.
  20. My stomach is talking to me after seeing that photo. I can just taste how good that would be.
  21. Great looking pizzas, Tony. I'm looking forward to trying those recipes.
  22. Cookie, that's one beautiful set up you have. It also shows the 21" being taller but having a thinner waist. And it's in the color I chose so I finally got a real good look at what I'm getting. Thanks for the link. Hey Robert, I'm not looking for cheap junk to put next to my KK, just not Trump stuff.
  23. Yes I did look at them. I'd love to buried in a cabinet that nice, but not now. I'm looking for something more in the line of "utility." Those cabinets are more fine furniture to this jasper.
  24. Fear not Tony, I plan to irritate everyone with photo after photo of crate, crate open, close up of crowbar...well, you get the message. But I'll love every minute of it. Looking for a storage cabinet instead of shelves to put Komodo parts that I want to keep fairly clean (no bugs, wasp nest, octopus tentacles) for a change. There's lots of plastic cabinets available that I wouldn't bury a dead pet dung beetle in. I've redone the lights in my shop and I have a ton of cherry, pecan and oak smoking wood. By the time that sucker arrives, I'll be ready for him. Speaking of which, I wired the cash to Dennis around 8:45 this morning and I still don't have the Komodo yet. And it's already 3:15PM here. What's the hold up Dennis???
