  1. Sounds good to me. Maybe by Monday or Tuesday next week...if I'm lucky.
  2. I agree. Beautiful meal for sure.
  3. Don't worry wilburpan, CC is picking up the tab. Just let him know how many jars to order.
  4. Thanks GoFrogs, I'm thinking that this Komodo is already in Californey, so it may not take too long. It gives me time to redo stuff in my shop to prep for it. Really looking forward this contraption getting here. I'll do the break in and then have to decide on the first cook. Probably both the same day. That is if I don't strain my gizzard too much getting into the shop.
  5. Thanks CC, I'll check out Lowe's or Home Depot to see if they have some OSB. Never heard of it, but I"ll get it if it's that strong. If it held up to that monster you ordered, mine should be no problem. The cat is a Bengal but it's not mine. It belongs Dennis, but he said he's shipping him along with my Komodo since KitKat was verbalizing while I was placing my order. I guess I need to get more good lump, smoking wood, and Meow Mix.
  6. KitKat the magical kitty.
  7. Good ideas. Thanks guys.
  8. Grandma and Grandpa are sitting in rocking chairs on the porch. All of a sudden Grandma knocks Grandpa so hard he falls out of his chair. He slowly gets up, gets back in the chair and says, "what was that for?" Grandma: "55 years of bad sex!" After a about 5 minutes Grandpa knocks Grandma hard enough to send her sailing out of her chair. She slowly gets up and back in her chair. Grandma: "What was that for?" Grandpa: "Knowing the difference!"
  9. Thank God you had fries to offset those healthy peas. When I first looked at the picture, I thought it was peanut butter with peas stuck in it! Live and learn.
  10. Cook up some biscuits on the baking stone and have a feast with that jam. I'd give you CeramicChef's next paycheck for a couple of jars of that!
  11. Tiny, it's hotter than a scalded cat here, but I'd still go for some of that soup. Looks delicious. And don't feel bad, I've never eaten cold soup either.
  12. I do all my BBQing in a 20X24 metal building. It has 2 roll up doors (8 feet wide each) and a regular door, so ventilation isn't a problem. I can cook in every type of weather this way and never get wet. Unfortunately, my shop is on a slab that's about 4 1/2" high. If I can get the Komodo up to that step, maybe the crate lid/ramp can help me get it up there with some well watered friends. Unless you guys know a trick.
  13. Dennis just told me today that the 21" just became available in May of this year. Didn't know that. bryan, I'm guessing you have a 23" right now.
  14. Do you guys think it'll roll OK on 1/2" plywood? If not, I'll need 3/4"
  15. You're both right, Robert and Chef, no matter how much I told Dennis he was a great guy and even complimented Kit-Kat, he still wanted money. The nerve!
  16. Well MacKenzie, I sort of pulled a fast one. Dennis had one that he had photographed and for some reason didn't put on the site. When I told him I really liked the bronze, he remembered that he had one. So it worked out for both of us. I'm still not sure which one I would have picked if this one didn't become available. Doesn't matter now, it'll be mine soon!
  17. Well it looks like tomorrow is "go to the bank day!" Dennis refused to send me a Komodo unless I sent some money. Come on, man! I'm getting the teak shelves, firebox splitter, baking stone, rotisserie basket, grill lifters, coco char, AND a 21" bronze metallic Komodo!! Yes I am excited about it. I'm 60 years old but feel like a brat at Christmas. After I find out the delivery date, I'll start a new thread for the countdown. In the mean time, I plan to bug all of you about Stokers, CyberQ's, rolling that contraption from the driveway to my backyard (1/2" plywood??), and other pesky questions about it. Thanks again for all the good advice and keeping the standards up on a really great forum!
  18. WOW! Those are making my mouth water right now! Looks like you nailed another one, Robert. If I leave right now, I'd be in New Orleans in time for a 6am breakfast. Congratulations!
  19. That's a perfect looking pizza, Mackenzie! Is that about a 12 or 14"? I knew you'd find a good use for that 8lb yardbird you cooked.
  20. Now there's an idea, Tony. Get one now with plans for another in a different size and cool color later. I wonder how the young lady I've been married to for 39 years would think about that idea? She 100% for which ever I get now and refers to it as the last smoker I'll ever need. Oh really??? I guess it's because I've had every Weber made, a Kamado Joe, a Green Egg and a few I'm too embarrassed to mention. (Starts with A and ends with corn). I've given myself until tomorrow to make a decision and stick with it. Thanks for all the input so far. The bottom line is that everyone seems happy with what they have and I'm sure I will be too.
  21. I like the color, but not enough to wait months for it. I'm sure whichever cooker and color arrives on my planet, will be a good one. It's a good thing Dennis has lots of patience, or assassins would be at my door.
  22. Yep. Like I didn't have enough to tax my tiny cranium already.
  23. I really like yours MacKenzie, but he's out of those "pebbles" right now.
  24. Good info from everyone and it is appreciated. Keep 'em coming! I'd like the room on the 23" for sure, as well as the extra grill you get (compared to 2 on the 21"). Otherwise, they're basically the same. I'm leaning towards the 23". Now the really big question: Cobalt Blue or Terra Blue. I like the white too since it looks like you're cooking BBQ in an igloo.
  25. MacKenzie, you've got a real talent when you can make a photo of a chicken sandwich look like a 5 star meal! An 8lb chicken can kick a rooster's butt. Looking forward to your next cook.
