    A great day

finished everything up right on time and I am very pleased with the overall turn out of these two cuts. These were for my cousin who is having a surprise BBQ for her husband. He is a huge fan of BBQ so I hope that I did it right. We should soon see if he approved. From the samples that I took, I think they were about perfect and the butt

    A great day

7am and these are probing at 170-175 in spots. I'll monitor until 10 but don't think that I need to up the temp all that much as they have already likely progressed through the stall. I may wrap them if needed but looks like the KK has produced some awesome results. As soon as I poked them they started juicing up... A sign of amazing moisture retention. Here is a picture after 9 hours at a rock solid 250 degrees. This temp has been unwavering all night

    A great day

Progress report. It is 3am. I haven't looked inside. The smoke is still incredibly strong. The wood scattered and buried is hitting st all different times. My 32" KK is holding strong at 250. The moisture that is coming from the bottom dials has created a fair size puddle. I'll try and take a pic in the daylight. 5 hours steady temp things are looking good. Back to bed

    A great day

I'm sitting out on the covered porch and the sweetness of pork and the peach and oak is just tormenting my senses. I have the outside LED lights on in the pool and I may as well go for a late night dip. I will check pit around 3am and that will be it. I trust my KK more than anything I have ever cooked on. I should have used the cyberQ... but I am lazy lol and don't want to I am amazed with just how little air flow is in on this grill and it is rock solid at 250. The smoke is about perfect, you can not see an ounce of smoke until I shine a flash light near the top damper and it is just a light blue haze (Nailed It)
  6. Today was my day off, and I took advantage of it. I got in my bathing suit and went out and vacuumed out both the KKs and loaded them up for weekend cooks. Then I did a wipe down on the out side with the zapp 505 and then a light spray wax to make it shiny again. Went for a swim for a bit then lit the 23". I sat out on the porch with a nice cool breeze waiting for the temp to get up. It was so relaxing, enjoying the smell of the lump and I remembered why I love this hobby as much as I do. We made spatchcock chicken and beef ribblets and invited the neighbours over for dinner. Around 7:30, I loaded the 32" up with lump and some peach and white oak chunks. Got it up to 250 for now and threw on a 10 lb butt and an 8 lb brisket point. I am cooking for my cousin who is throwing a surprise party for her husband who just happens to think that I am the greatest cook in the world lol. Threw the meat on at 10pm and will let it coast all night. I hope everything finishes on time and will likely bump the temp up in the morning early. I just want it to get a nice hit of smoke right now. No pics unfortunately, but I will take some in the morning when I finally take a peak to see where I am at. The backyard smells so wonderful with the peach and oak combo Today was a very nice day of relaxation and enjoyment with my KKs
  7. I usually do all of my grilling on the main grate. I will put the lower grate in below the main grate and cook steak down low and veggies etc up top. I think the upper grate can sit on top of the basket handles. I think and don't quote me that you flip the upper grate upside down for this. I am not a high heat type cooker. I can achieve great steaks with the grill at 400 with the steaks on the lower grate, I can also cook great pizza at 450 to 500 without any issue. I see no need to go nuclear
  8. that sucks.... but remember it could always be worse. I think that I hold the record for longest shipment. When I ordered; weather, boats, customs into Canada etc etc caused massive delays. My delivery took 4 months and shipping to Canada from Indo was not easy for Dennis. He kept me in the loop through the entire process but each day was like torture. I actually have a post where I tracked the boats progression. Luckily most KK's are bought from the inventory in Calif. I think that you made the right choice with the 32" and taking your time to decide was the right choice. Once it gets there, you will never have a care in the world again
  9. Did you go with all teak or with the stainless inserts on the side tables? I also do not see the basket splitter just the basket ?
  10. I still need to add my pins, I didnt realize that was what they were for
  11. just when I thought things couldn't be any sexier...
  12. I was waiting for this purchase ckreef. I knew that it was a matter of time for your lifestyle. Awesome for travel. I am trying to think of ways to make the 23 travel friendly lol

    Tandoori Chicken

great use of the KKs depth with that cook. Great looking second cook... what is going on for number 3 lol
  14. that looks really good. I love the smoke profile of the meat, and the skin looks good from here buddy
  15. sounds like the hook is already set for the smaller KK Mac. Izzy, once you set eyes on that 32, you are going to never treat the oval the same. Sounds like it is going to be a gorgeous setup and I can't wait to see pictures
  16. awesome looking setup and welcome to the forum. Tell us about your journey to KK we love that stuff
  17. awesome and congrats again. I am curious what you plan on doing with the other cookers now?? I have toyed with the idea of a pellet grill but just don't think it can out perform my babies

    Beef ribs

Awesome buddy. I can't wait until you see the difference in food taste. Most say it's not the grill... It's the cook. You wait and see and tell me what you think. Non KK owners doubt us ...
  19. I made one last year but haven't had a chance to use it yet. Maybe a low and slow this week is in order
  20. Get the basket that way you don't need to remove the splitter each time. Or just have as a spare. Shipping is st it's cheapest right now with this big order so get everything cover??
  21. It's all reputation. And Dennis is such an honest trustworthy guy. He backs his product and that is what matters most! Take comfort in knowing a beauty is being tiled in short order and will be on the water in no time. Time to let the guru know that we have another convert! Congrats again buddy and I love the tile choice
