  1. Your father needs a KK!
  2. Lol thank you MacKenzie! I'm hungry and waiting! lol.
  3. Thanks for sharing your background story Rick! Congratulations on retirement, can't think of a better way to spend it then with your family and KK!
  4. That broth is crystal clear!! I'm not sure it will work in the soup though...perhaps you should send me some, just so that I can taste it for you. I'm a good friend like that.
  5. Thanks! I really enjoy your experiments and always learn something from them!
  6. That looks great Charles! Whats the advantage of opening up the top more?
  7. LOL there is a lot of information. Just take it in and ask questions. I think the Naked Whiz review was the most informative for me. To be honest, most of it didnt make sense to me until I started cooking on one! LOL but then again, i'm not technically inclined at all! oh, and yes, you can be grilling in 15 minutes! Because of the way it 'pulls' air through and because the air has no where to go other than through the basket, you get up to temp very quickly. So if I'm grilling, I can be at 350F in 15mins without issue.
  8. Ok thanks MacKenzie. I was thinking to put the veggies in for the first 45 mins or so, to let them cook. Then I was thinking of removing everything and letting the chicken cook directly over the flames to crisp up the skin. Looking at your pictures, you certainly didnt have any issues getting that skin nice and crispy cooking indirect! Thanks MacKenzie!
  9. hahahahah Welcome Roger! I knew that wouldn't take long! You are going to get great information here from the pro's, but I do suggest having a preliminary conversation with Dennis. He really is a 'no pressure' guy and will tell you more about the KK then I ever could! Great to see you here!
  10. Oh wow MacKenzie!! That looks incredible!! I want to try again with the veggies and double bottom pan...I'll take your advice and only cook them for half the cook.
  11. Looking forward to seeing your pies. That recipe is very specific, but the results looks worth it.

Yes, once you showed me how it should fit, it was easy enough. Thanks Tony!
  13. Welcome Rick and congratulations on the KK! I have had my 23" for about 3 weeks now and love it! Please take lots of pictures of the delivery and unboxing! Also, the first burn in had me anxious...but its really not a big deal at all! follow the instructions and you'll be fine! As always, Dennis is available to answer your questions, but as someone that just went through it, I can honestly say, don't over think it and make sure you don't waste that good heat! Steaks would be nice first meal off the KK I don't use a controller, but then again I don't do many long cooks where I'm not around.

I was referring to Charles! He and Susan are thinking about a third! As to Mario, its so true....once it arrives, you just simply forget everything and just want to start cooking. Amazing feeling!
