  1. Very interesting. We have a pizza cook planned for tonight (if I get out of work on time). Might have to try on the deflector instead of the baking stone.
  2. I had a similar experience, though not that great of a discount, buying a 3D printer last week. I looked at a few models from a few different sites and would put them in the shopping cart to calculate shipping. The next day, I had a bunch of $ off coupons in my email box. Most were only $10 or so, but it's better than nothing.
  3. Looks great! I used some plastic shims (used to level toilets) under my wheels to prevent my KK from scooting off the patio and meeting a very ugly end.
  4. You can do it in fewer steps: 1. tap the wishbone 2. the link is already highlighted, so do a ctrl-c to copy 3. scroll down 4. click in the reply box 5. ctrl-v to paste If you don't like the way it posts, you can click the "Display as link instead" in the popup. It takes about 5 seconds and will take your readers maybe 3 seconds to find the exact post you are referencing. Or, likely the easiest for both the poster and the people reading, just click the Quote button and then no one has to scroll to see what you are talking about. And it's one step. 1. Click Quote. It scrolls for you, it clicks in the Reply box for you, and it shows the reader exactly what you are replying to in 0 seconds.
  5. To me, it's more about not making the next reader scroll. If you say post 17, now I have to scroll to find what you meant. If you are referencing a post in the same thread, quoting it would be easier, I think. if referring to a post in another thread, linking is easier. I'm not against the numbers being added, though.
  6. @DennisLinkletter- can you help me sell my KJ Classic?
  7. I agree, much easier to use the sideways wishbone thing. At least I think that's what you said. I love your posts, but I need to look up about 6 words and even then, I'm not sure I ever understand fully.
  8. For the most part, they are friendly and well behaved fans. Steeler games can get worse due to the hours of pre-game tailgating. Owning Steeler gear is a requirement of residency. lol My wife always laughs at the number of Steeler shirts you will see at a Pirate or Penguin game. Only the Pirate/Penguin superfans have gear for those teams, but everyone has Steeler stuff. Everywhere we go on trips, we see Steeler gear. We always take bets on how many things we will see in a day. In an airport, you can always tell which gate is going to Pittsburgh by counting Steeler logos. Our 'best' Steeler logo sighting so far was in Las Vegas, there was a guy with an artificial leg that was Steeler themed.
  9. Nice! I grew up in Pittsburgh, lived there for 40 years, and am a huge Penguin's fan. Sorry your team lost, though. I miss a good Primanti's sandwich. I was in the Fort Lauderdale area at the end of last week for business and never had a chance to go to the Primanti's there.
  10. Hmmm, I figured everywhere you went in Australia you could hear AC/DC blaring. I figured the birds even whistled Back In Black.
  11. I've read through this book a few times... I'm still at square one lol. Here are my quick Photoshop attempts: Edited the whole image first and cropped down I tried tweaking the top bun a bit to reduce the white. Might be a bit overboard:
  12. A few years ago, my wife and I woke to early morning screaming. It sounded like a woman screaming. We ran to the window to see if we could see anything and didn't see anything. I ran down and outside and didn't find anything and the screaming stopped. A few mornings later, it happened again and we determined it was a bird noise, but never saw anything. I did some research at the time and best I could tell, it was likely a barred owl. We went months without hearing it again, then heard it once more and nothing since. Never saw it, unfortunately.
  13. Ah, that looks better to my eye. I have a hand-me-down Nikon D90, but haven't really learned to use it. I've tried a few times, but I'm just not as into learning it as I wish I could be. I get confused and bored too quickly . Same with photoshop lol
  14. Both of those pictures look heavily edited to me. What does it look like straight out of the camera?
  15. The opposite approach might work, too. Find a Craigslist deal for a rusted out stickburner and say you are giving the guy a call
  16. My wife was okay with it pretty quickly when i stumbled into a good deal on a repaired KK. I don't have many hobbies and rarely buy myself anything, so she didn't resist. I only had my KJ for about a year and she saw how much I enjoyed cooking on that.

    Happy

Growing up, my grandmother always did thanksgiving at noon. She knew most of her kids had to also go to their in-laws to have Thanksgiving dinner. We only ever had one place to go, my dad'a family wasn't local, but that just meant we ate twice at grandmas. I'm no longer close to extended family, and neither is my wife, so we do a mid afternoon meal. Works for us, but I do miss the noon meal Happy Thanksgiving. Make the best of whatever situation you find yourself in today.
  18. It depends on your definition of 'fit'. Here are some pictures I grabbed for you of the cover on my 23": 1. The accessory pins are installed on the left side (this is my normal storage): 2. The roti is installed on the right (no accessory pins on left): 3. Both the roti (right) and accessory pins (left) are installed. It takes a bit more effort to get the cover on with the rotisserie motor installed, a pull here, a tug there, but it does go on. It may wear out the cover faster, though.
  19. Fair enough, but you can adjust the time and temperature to change the texture. It takes some dialing in to find what you like, but I have no doubt you would have found a time/temp that turned out great for you. It might have cost you several hundred dollars in chicken breasts, but you would have got it eventually.
  20. I don't use mine a ton. I used it a lot when I first got it and would make yogurt every other weened for smoothies. My wife stopped drinking smoothies and, therefore, stopped making me one in the mornings (and I'm not going to get up a minute earlier than I have to;) ) so I don't do that anymore. It is great for planning meals ahead, unfortunately, I am not. I never think to get it set up in time. Chicken breasts are probably the most common use now. I've also done cheaper steak cuts then seared after and thought they turned out fantastic. Made a cheap cut feel like an expensive cut. The code is a single use code. I have one, too. If anyone wants mine, PM me and if it's still availble, I'll send you the code. I belive you can also use it for a discount on the WiFi model but it's not down to $99. I think it's something like $30 off of either one. I tried to biuld an order on their site, but I couldn't figure out how to check out???
  21. Yeah, I switched the basket around and thought it was solved, but it just reversed which pin would unscrew. And the whole thing made me dizzy.
  22. At one point, I thought I had it all figured out where neither of the inside pins would unscrew, but the motor pin was still unscrewing. So I cracked open the motor and flipped it, and one of the inside pins started to unscrew. I flipped the motor back and the other inside pin started to unscrew. I just put locktite on everything. When the cook is done, I still have to pull the motor and spin the basket in the opposite direction a few times to get the pins back in so I can pull the basket out.
  23. I wonder how many deck collapses came shortly after someone said, "Hand me those cinder blocks, I can make this work."
  24. Wilbur is doing well - very busy at work. He's still grilling up a storm, just hasn't had time to post anything lately. He was on vacation when I PMd him and still took the time to respond to my build questions.
  25. Yum! I tried to convince my wife to go the 'one big steak for the two of us' route and she wasn't going for it last time we had steaks. Maybe I'll take her to Tuscany to prove my point. That'll show her!
