  1. With PBW? If not, recommend getting some. It is magic. https://smile.amazon.com/Five-Star-PBW-4-lbs-x/dp/B001D6IVZG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1549674582&sr=8-1&keywords=pbw+-+powdered+brewery+wash
  2. Speaking from direct experience, the forks are much easier to clean than the cradle. PBW takes care of both, but you need a large sink to soak the cradle.

    Rotisserie

It fits into spring loaded sockets built into the walls of the grill. The only rotisserie rod that will fit is the one Dennis sells.
  4. There it is! Love the half main on my 32. This brings that flexibility to the 23. Nice! I see some new accessories in my future.
  5. I'm hoping green == chimichurri, in which case, well done! (or medium rare!).
  6. Sweet! Wish my wife liked cheesecake. I'd be all over that.
  7. @DennisLinkletter will want a few for Instagram...especially with that logo on the front!
  8. ...and THAT is how you do that!
  9. Given the range of cooks, and the continued existence of the BGE, I think the 32 is a great choice. Pizzas? Two 14”ers at a time. Nobody needs to wait. The half main, basket splitter, and shear real estate...you’ll be living the dream. Soon you’ll be asking about accessories, so let’s go there. Get the basket splitter, baking stone, a roti spit rod (I prefer it over the roti cradle), side tables, and a Sunbrella cover for sure. I also recommend the cold smoker...puts you in total control of the smoke throughout a cook. Some people even use it for cold smoking.
  10. That seems to be the secret. I actually have to GO TO Lowes and pick it up there.
  11. I'm sure you hear this all the time, but...nice butt!
  12. I have both. Coming from a large BGE, you'll be delighted with either. I'll try to address some of your questions: Is the 23" the ideal size KK? Really depends on you and how you're going to use it. For the cooks you described -- low and slow -- it is probably all you need. How much more charcoal does a 32" use? Not much more. Most of the time my 32" is configured in split basket mode, configured for two-zone grilling, so the amount of charcoal is about the same as the 23". It might take slightly longer to heat soak a 32, but I haven't really noticed. 32 too big for a family of 5? Not at all. Most of the time I'm cooking just for me and my wife, and I still go to the 32 more often than not. Common theme in my responses...all depends on how/what you cook most often. If you do a lot of grilling, then you know from your BGE that you need to "go vertical" to get the two zones. You can get a basket splitter for a 23, but the hot side will be pretty small if you need to do a lot of searing for a family of 5. My opinion only, but based on direct use of both...is that the 32 is a more natural two-zone grill with lots of real estate on both the "cold" and hot sides. If you don't do a lot of two-zone cooking, the 23 is probably just fine for you. Another option to consider is to get a 23 (or 22) AND a 19 instead of a single 32. Another member of this forum recently asked my opinion on two smaller vs. a 32. I'm biased...I REALLY like the 32. But, then again, I also have a 23, so...there is that.

    Charcoal

I use Rockwood lump and Fogo. Rockwood quality has been a bit uneven -- had three bags from the same order recently that had all small pieces. Other bags have been great. Fogo is consistently large chunks, but usually too large -- like pouring a tree from the bag.
  14. The first one I understand completely. The second has me a bit baffled.... So...how was cheddar with honey and ground coffee?
  15. It comes up at $36 at Amazon...not quite outrageous, but over the list price. More a matter of principle than the $6.
  16. I’ve located it on Amazon, but a tad pricey. Waiting for it to drop a bit.
  17. Good idea with the CI pot. What size is that pot? 4 quart?
  18. Welcome and congrats! The BB 32 is a GREAT choice. A question -- just curiosity: Is it really shipping from Texas? Wasn't aware that Dennis had a warehouse there.
  19. Crikey! Can’t wait to see what’s for dinner.
  20. I agree. Split basket roti with a pineapple is awesome.
  21. But how do *I* win? Now I'm hungry and all I've got is a picture...
  22. A venison family decided to hunker down in our back yard this AM after the big snow yesterday.
  23. Nice! What do you mean by “custom formulated sourdough”? Aren’t all dough formulas custom formulated by someone? Or do you mean something I haven’t grokked?
  24. Well, it was University of Illinois. “Going to school with” is roughly equivalent to just so happened to be in the same town for a few years, but saw him in one of his earliest acting gigs. I did go to high school with Jim O’Heir...I probably actually talked to him once or twice.
