  4. Re: Is the Benzomatic JT850 the best? Are not propane bottles turned upside down when filling the small canisters?
  5. Re: I'm STOKED!!! (newcomer) Welcome and don't forget the camera. I like the plywood leap frog method, moving the crate from the truck to the porch. A case of "Bud" or a "$20 bill" seems to work well for the drivers. I suggest a 2x4 on grass parallel to porch as ramp for plywood. Again welcome and keep those pictures coming. Special note: Get those points "Ask wife to name the new family member"

  16. Re: How to make a huge indirect cooking area Where did you get the pool water? Is that a local thing?
  17. Re: SB XLV Chicken wings recipe? This one is not bad and easy to modify for those that like changes. (girlsatthegrill.com) Chicken Wings Hands Down Best: 2 6oz bottles Crystal brand hot sauce 4 pounds wings and/or drummettes Ine-grain sea salt Olive oil optional Grilling Method: Indirect/Med heat (New.... "Dennis KK grill foil method for indirect" should work great here) Marinade: Empty one bottle of hot sauce into one of two ziploc bags. Repeat w/other bag. Divide chicken equally between bags. Seal. Turn bags occasionally to make sure all meat gets wet and covered w/hot sauce. Marinate 2 hrs/overnight covered in fridge: Cook: Remove from bag and place in center of cooking grate over indirect heat. Discard marinade. Close lid and grill 20-25 min/until beginning to brown: Turn over, and cook another 20 m: /until wings are crispy and completely cooked through. Remove from grill, place on clean platter and sprinkle w/sea salt. Note: If without a grill and want to make these, preheat oven to 400 and place wings on sheet pan fitted w/rack. Roast wings in oven 20-25 min, take out and turn them over w/tongs. Place pan back in oven and continue cooking until golden brown and cooked through. Sprinkle w/salt and brush lightly w/olive oil.

  19. Re: Paella, pan size, etc. My cast-iron skillets work great. I have used them for all types of cooking for over 40 years. The drip pan from Dennis also works great. My cook in Spain used a clay dish. Paella is a Spanish stew w/rice. If you can cook rice you can cook paella. Just jump in and have fun cooking. The main thing about paella is that it's NOT a deep dish cook.
  20. Re: Huge Christmas 2010 Cook! Yes, I am cooking a little bit. (See earlier post) This year I talked the boss into doing 90% of the cooking a day early so she can have more time with the family. Saved a pan of dressing to cook tomorrow. (for the Christmas Dinner aroma) My big cook is New Years. That is when I call the eight kids all together with their extended families. Merry Christmas.
  21. Re: Huge Christmas 2010 Cook! I am a 73 year old orphan looking for adoption. I'm a good eater.
  22. The Turkey is on (26#), The dressing is resting, and the Giblets are ready for the gravy. Dishes, pots and pans back on the shelves. Cakes and cookies are flooding the house with good baking smells. Limoncello, Fruit Rumtopf and Eggnog Have been removed from the closet and set on the table. All that remains are the sides on Christmas. (and setting out a sample dish for Santa to enjoy) Life is Good
  23. Re: Happy Holidays to all And a Happy Season to you and yours! Thanks for the Memories and Smiles you have spread around the world. Most of all... Thanks for being you and may the future be Everclear.
  24. Re: It's Almost Here! Congrats!!! Remove bolts from bottom four corners and lift the box off. What will be the 1st cook? I gave a case of Bud to have it put on patio. ( I offered $20 or a case of Bud)
  25. Re: Wire Brush Accident Note: THE UNIT WAS NOT a KK!!!! 1) Dog started caughing. 2) Quit eating or drinking. 3) Stomach had spasms. Each above separated by a couple of days. Three vet's before one read the x-ray correctly Did not see dog eat scrapings. Vet gave them to us in a small bottle after the operation. Brush was maintained on a hook on post and not available to the dog. Only thing left we can figure is grill scrapings that fell through holes on bottom of grill. Needless to say Daughter does not use brushes any more.
