  1. Luckily I have the plywood here and ready and it is a mostly flat trip to the backyard. It'll mostly just be getting it only the plywood to start (I have a plan for that) and then up a very small ramp at the end to get to the patio. I know I shouldn't be too nervous.. but you know how it is.. haha
  2. and thank you to @Buzilo for helping push me towards a 42" instead of a 32".. haha
  3. Oh and thank you to @DennisLinkletter for all his help in this process. I am sure more photos are to come (in Square as requested ) and I'm sure we'll be talking soon once I get it uncrated and moved. I can't wait to see it unwrapped!
  4. My 42" KK has arrived!! It came right in the smack middle of the time window and everything went very smoothly. Seeing how HUGE the crate is in person was like.. it is even bigger than I expected.. hah. Driver was great and the back of the truck didn't bow at all so no nerves. Getting it up the driveway slant was a bit of a chore but the KK is now safely in my garage until I am able to uncrate it. We are having some backyard work done in the next few days so I don't want to move it back there until then. It'll also give me some time to plan on how I am getting it back there (going to empty it out of everything and we should be good to go). Here are some pictures of the arrival!
  5. Just finished watching, VERY well done! I think these videos are going to be amazing resources for new owners!
  6. Yeah this time they direct transferred me to the depot and scheduled it on the spot. Friday they said I had to wait for a call.. guess it all depends on who you talk to!
  7. Okay so I took the initiative and called again this morning since I had not heard anything.. and my delivery is now scheduled for tomorrow between 11AM-2PM! Almost there!
  8. My understanding is even if one is new, it is still a good idea to do a burn in just to make 10000% sure everything is set and vented. I've got a 42" coming (hopefully this week as long as the shipping company can set an appointment) and even though it is part of the newest of the new batch I'll still be doing a burn in just in case.
  9. Great to hear! Now you never have to worry about doing that again.. haha
  10. From everything I have heard (from long time users and Dennis himself) is that the heat deflectors are included mostly because people coming from BGE/Kamado Joe expect them/are used to them and it is easier to include them and saves time from everyone asking if they need them/where they can get them. Dennis himself has said multiple times he doesn't use them and they aren't needed in a KK because of how the KK is designed. They are just a nice bonus that comes with the KK.
  11. Great video! Looks like the next one where you do your own burn in will be timed perfectly for when I should be doing mine. Can't wait to see what is next!
  12. Given the time of day I am thinking the call won't come today either.. so I am on their schedule now I suppose.
  13. I would contact Dennis, he'll know for sure. Possible you got the wrong shaft or if there is something else wrong.
  14. Well my KK is at the local depot.. I am not just waiting for the call for delivery. I reached out this morning and was told another person had to call me to arrange for delivery and that call may come today but delivery won't be until Monday at the earliest.
  15. Welcome! Please show us the grills when you get them
  16. My 42" is En Route to Buffalo NY to cross the border. Still has an ETA of the 28th but it bounces between that and the 27th. Getting closer every day though!
  17. Mine has been pushed back a few days too (now says ETA 28th) but is apparently in Chicago already before coming up to Canada. Hasn't been updated in a few days though so hard to say where it truly is.
  18. Okay good to know. So with the border and a Holiday up here today I shouldn't expect mine for another week or so probably. Glad you guys got yours!
  19. Did you get a tracking number for your motor or did it just show up?
  20. Amazing and just in time for the season!
  21. Exactly my thought too. ~$150 for plywood is nothing compared to the safety (and cost) of a KK!
