I remember reading about someone that had a fix for the "top hat closing on its own" problem which i have. It involved a spring mounted on the shaft of the top hat, and a part number of that spring at lowes.

I purchased some kobe burger, always wanted to try it, no place here to get it, it will be eaten this evening. Anyone in the Chicago area make a stop at Ziers in Wilmette, and go enjoy Lake Michigan while your at it.

Re: The KK has landed Hello! Welcome to the forum. Your first cook, mine and everyone else who purchases a kk are surprised at the results when you use the best! My wire transfer took about 20 min start to finish, but I suppose we all have different experiences, shipping is shipping I did the 20 spot too. Let us know about the pork butt!!

Re: Food capacity Hi Jeff, well i myself have done 6 eight pound butts, could have done maybe 2 more, and 8 racks of ribs with no probems. Unless your doing cooking for big groups, the capacity is plenty for family or neighborhood parties

Re: Cooking salmon Hi Syzygies, Just a couple questions, do you cook this on foil and on what rack? My neighbor has quite a bit of salmon, (he fishes) and wants me to cook some on the kk, he had some pulled pork was shocked at the moistness of it. We dont eat alot of fish just some crappe and bluegill once in a while. Thanks!! fcnich

Re: Running Out of Fuel on overnight cook Ditto on that, i used Royal Oak also for an overnight cook, filled the basket to the top. I had about 25% of the lump left at the end. About a 13 hr cook.
