  1. Hey...I had to do something! I woke up at 4AM in Tulsa, and by the time I got back home via Dallas, and went to my boys' little league game, it was that or Taco Bell! Next time I am through your area, you can host an all you can eat rib special and que up some proper ribs!
  2. David - Is it still in plateau (How long)? Say, that sure is a funny looking table you have next to it...Not sure that table base is being used for its intended purpose, but it sure looks like it works better as a table than what it was marketed as!
  3. I went out and loaded my grill with ABTs for the Chiefs game a few minutes ago. The wind is carrying the smoke in through the open sunroom and windows. While I was looking at this thread, my brain was interpreting the smells of sweet potato drippings (last cook), lump smoke, and ABT drippings as chuck roll cooking. Then reality set it - Im doing spatchcock chicken later. Now I am jealous
  4. YEah, we did that too. But now its microwave until crispy!
  5. Man, those are some tasty looking ribs! It might be a while before I eat ribs again...Smokey Bones had all you can eat baby backs on special, and I went all in - 2 and a half racks I was sick of them by that point, but damn they were good!
  6. The backbones are removed already when you buy a rib roast from the meat case Its just a big rib eye roast with the rib meat (and bones) still attached. Give this link a look - It shows step by step trimming... http://www.cortibros.biz/WEBSITE/Our%20 ... Roasts.asp
  7. A carving knife will easily cut between the bones to make chops like that.
  8. Accessory? can I get a tile lady as an accessory with mine? My current tile tile lady - promoted to "wife" several years ago gets mad when I think the grout is getting stained.
  9. Curly, are you really getting a KK this weekend?
  10. Damn, I wish I could find just the time it took you to finish all of those. I am seriously thinking about buying a nice Pelican hard case and taking a 360 on the road with me! Sure would make hotel time more pleasant. D_J is right, I do tend towards more of the squad based games because 90% of the time I spend playing is online with a group of friends. I enjoy the Ghost Recon/Rainbow six style more than Splinter Cell. Splinter cell is hard for me and my ADHD - Too much stealthin' and not enough killin'! But I get it because its what everyone will be playing when I finally get time to play - and at least I will be able to join in and let them snap my neck for entertainment
  11. So Dennis, whats the story on this mechanism? I am guessing you went all out with sealed bearings in there? Is it lubricated, and should it be re-lubed periodically? I am assuming this area can get quite hot, especially with a hot metal rod seated in it.
  12. Huh? So there is some sort of spindle in there that rotates with the motor?? The hole does not go all the way through the motor side? ...and I agree. I prefer human based games such as ghost Recon to halo, too
  13. HA I can envision those mods, too!
  14. Yeah...that way you guys will have someone else to make fun of when the sun hits it just right!
  15. Well, I have to keep the meat disassociated from the animal. I went for a few years without eating beef or pork after seeing a cattle truck going down the road in front of me where the floor had fallen thourgh and the feet of the cattle were being ground off. That was when I lived in MO and the truck was likely headed to the auction with a trailer load. As long as I can keep the meat in the case separate from the animal in the field I am fine. Steak come from the grocery store, not from chopping up a cow
  16. raising him right! Teach him to appreciate the flavors of roasted beast during the formative years
  17. Try loading a chimney with mesquite some time. Looks like Vesuvius! Its almost hard to get your hand in there to dump it. Never a problem in the grill though, only when you concentrate the heat in a chimney. Since I load the grill and light with gas, is no prob - not even when running the temp up to sear. Dennis, the Tamarind intrigues me as well. Any more details on its performance / flavor, etc?
  18. I lived in the country for a long time, and grew up with a really big wooded back yard. But I'm sticking to conventional barnyard animals Im sure it tastes great (I have tried 2 bites of venison before ) but I just cant get over the whole Bambi complex.
  19. Sounds like the same stuff that I am getting here (for Curly and Turtle, too) for somewhere between $7 to $9 per 40# bag. For those interested, I will be getting the final price per bag this week, and will also be inquiriing about the wholesale apple and cherry smoke chips, and oak lump as well. I can get this stuff pretty cheap from the wholesaler, but need to get it in quantity to do so. Anyone who is interested in getting in on the deal let me know. Our first pickup is slated for Thanksgiving weekend.
  20. The EZQue site shows 2 chickens on the same cradle in one of their pics. I dont know how many hold down attachments you get with the cradle, but if you want more they were like $20.
