Oven cleaner

Has anyone ever tried oven cleaner to get the cooked on stain off the tiles, particularly around the top vent? Would it be too harsh?

Use ZEP cleaner. It works great. I'd be a bit reluctant to use a strong cleaner like Easy-off.

OOh, I'd proceed with caution on this product 5698k. I'm holding a can of Easy-off BBQ grill cleaner in my hands It's ok to use on the racks following the instructions BUT in bold letters it says DO NOT USE ON GRILL EXTERIOR or damage could occur. Let your trusty standby sit and eventually it'll come round. Nasty stuff, if it gets in the eye and on hands Contains Monoethanolamine and Diethylene Glycol n-Butyl Ether. This stuff will take the paint off your car if you let it sit long enough, enough said

I have used magic erasers, they work well, but fall apart quickly.

I have used zep for grease or dawn dish soap with a dobi scrub, both work well.

With any of the approaches, hot water is a key.

I use undiluted Simple Green. Get them shiny clean.

Clean it after a cook when the grease is warmer and pliable. It should come off.

I haven't used it on my KK but I have found that Dawn PowerWash works pretty well on pretty much everything.

I agree with that. I use it on the rotisserie and it gets the gunk off.

Bar Keepers Friend if you need something that is a little abrasive. I have used it around the vent of my BB32 and it worked great. But 99% of the time, I just use some kitchen degreaser spray and dish soap.
