MacKenzie Posted July 30, 2015 Report Posted July 30, 2015 Made some English muffins this evening, they are for breakfast tomorrow;) Baking on the KK stone at 350F Looks like breakfast to me ckreef, where is that peach jam and the clotted cream? 1
Poochie Posted July 30, 2015 Report Posted July 30, 2015 Do you put anything on that stone before you put food on it? Pam? Cornmeal?
MacKenzie Posted July 30, 2015 Author Report Posted July 30, 2015 No I didn't and when I did my chicken pizza I didn't either. These muffins did have semolina flour on them but I didn't put any extra on the baking stone.
CeramicChef Posted July 31, 2015 Report Posted July 31, 2015 I can see Egg MacKenzie on the menu tomorrow morning! 1
Poochie Posted July 31, 2015 Report Posted July 31, 2015 OK Mac, looks like we're all heading your way for breakfast in the morning. After we stuff ourselves and pass out on your couch, you can wake us in time for lunch.
tony b Posted July 31, 2015 Report Posted July 31, 2015 I'll take an egg MacKenzie with that homemade sausage of yours!
MacKenzie Posted July 31, 2015 Author Report Posted July 31, 2015 Oh, goodie, a crowd for breakfast. :)
CeramicChef Posted July 31, 2015 Report Posted July 31, 2015 I'm in for an Egg MacKenzie with bacon. Tony, that would be Canadian Bacon we're talking about about, right?
tony b Posted July 31, 2015 Report Posted July 31, 2015 Tony, that would be Canadian Bacon we're talking about about, right? Actually, it would be "Tony, that would be Canadian Bacon we're talking about, EH?" 1
CeramicChef Posted July 31, 2015 Report Posted July 31, 2015 Hey! Speaking of Canadian, eh? I had my first dose of Poutine yesterday! And just as I suspected, down here in Oklahoma, Poutine was served with white cream peppered gravy! I've gotta say, this Poutine was wonderful. I also dosed it with a few dashes of Tabasco Sauce and that really kicked it up a notch. Okie Poutine is the bomb! Now, back to Breakfast with MacKenzie!
tony b Posted July 31, 2015 Report Posted July 31, 2015 Now just image how awesome it's gonna be when you get the "real thing" made with brown gravy!
Smokydave Posted July 31, 2015 Report Posted July 31, 2015 Mac, are you willing to share your recipe?
MacKenzie Posted July 31, 2015 Author Report Posted July 31, 2015 Absolutely, It is one that I discovered at this site: http://www.bakingsteel.com/blog/baking-steel-homemade-english-muffins/ I followed the recipe exactly. I love measurements in grams. I hope you do too. They are so much more predictable.

Smokydave Posted August 1, 2015 Report Posted August 1, 2015 Thank you! I've made english muffin bread in the oven and everyone raves. Can't wait to do this. maybe cook some bacon on the KK when done! Breakfast in the yard!
MacKenzie Posted August 1, 2015 Author Report Posted August 1, 2015 Breakfast in the yard sounds delicious, don't forget the pixs:)
MacKenzie Posted January 3, 2016 Author Report Posted January 3, 2016 Did another batch of English Muffins today, some for home and some for a friend. I might have to make another batch. The dough fermented in the fridge for 2 days, turned it into 10 balls and now are at the rise for an hour stage. On the grill. Baked and ready to test. Maybe with some sour cherry jam and a slice of cheese.
