tinyfish Posted September 20, 2015 Report Posted September 20, 2015 Cooked some ribs to go with my ravioli. Used up the last of my meaty baby backs. I rubbed the ribs in Eat Barbeque sweet rub. Normally I cook at 225f but today I went with 275f. I almost forgot I used some coffee wood chunks (thanks again Ken). I wasn't sure how strong the coffe wood would be so I just used a little. The coffee wood smoke is surprising mild. I can double the amount of coffee wood I used. I little bit of bbq sauce All cooked and ready to eat Here is my 3/8 wrench at work Quote

tony b Posted September 21, 2015 Report Posted September 21, 2015 Great minds. Did baby backs on Friday. Sorry, no pics, as it poured down rain all day. But, they were tasty with the local corn on the cob. Just about end of the local corn here. Probably some time this week. Quote
kjs Posted September 22, 2015 Report Posted September 22, 2015 Nice ribs and demo on the wrench. Quote
MacKenzie Posted September 22, 2015 Report Posted September 22, 2015 tony, have you tried corn on the cob in the microwave? I tried it for the first time last week and it was fantastic. Just put he whole thing in for 3-4 mins, no soaking, husks still on. It will be very hot when you take it out so becareful. Cut the big end off and the rest will come off very easily and the silk will stick together and it will also all come off. Quote
tinyfish Posted September 22, 2015 Author Report Posted September 22, 2015 This Tony has not tried it and I hope its not that great because I don't own a microwave...LOL. Quote
MacKenzie Posted September 22, 2015 Report Posted September 22, 2015 It works for any Tony. They really are that good but not sure how great it would be for doing it for a whole family. Quote
tinyfish Posted September 22, 2015 Author Report Posted September 22, 2015 Great looking ribs, Tony! Just following in your footsteps. Quote
PRippley Posted September 23, 2015 Report Posted September 23, 2015 Corn in the microwave, who'd a thunk it? Quote
MacKenzie Posted September 24, 2015 Report Posted September 24, 2015 I know PJ, I absolutely love steamed fresh corn on the cob. If it had not been told to me by someone I respect I wouldn't even have tried it but I'm some glad I did. Quote
tony b Posted September 24, 2015 Report Posted September 24, 2015 Yes, I've done corn in the husks in the microwave before. It's very good and super easy. But I only do it in bad weather when you don't want to fire up the grill, or if you're not doing the protein on the grill and don't want to fire it up just for corn. Quote
PRippley Posted September 28, 2015 Report Posted September 28, 2015 Hey, if an Iowan endorses it, I am in!😊 Quote
