KK Shipping Crate Lives Again

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

After we unpacked the 19" TT KK at the house,  I brought the crate into work to dispose of the wood (we send old pallets to a plant to be recycled).  Put in the KK crate in old pallet pile and said my final goodbye .

Today I walked by the maintenance cage and saw a pleasant surprise........the top half of the KK crate was rescued and tuned into a work table by the maintenance crew.  They love how strong it is!!!!

Only trouble is that every time I see the crate,  I want to go home and start cooking :-D!!!!!

Mine got recycled into a doghouse for the neighbor dog across the street. Neighbor was impressed with the quality of the wood and asked for the crate to build the doghouse out of. It's a nice doghouse! The dog likes it, too!

I'm an old hippie, so being Green is always a good thing in my book! I actually remember participating in the very first Earth Day back in the 70s.

The crate for my 32", TheBeast, lives on as a dog house for a friend of mine who breeds Mastiffs.  It just fits.   Angel, the mastiff, just loves her crate.  She's as gentle as a lamb despite her bark and her size.  Just like TheBeast!

Was this particularly hard to do?  I want to use my crate as a side table if I get the awesome komodo kamado label on the side.  Maybe I would add wheels too...

Our crate was for a 19" table top model.  They did not have to alter/cut the crate, as it was at perfect woriing height - FYI
