MacKenzie
It felt so good to fire up the KK this evening. While the steak was in the 132F sous vide bath started the cauliflower. Basted with olive oil, minced garlic, salt and pepper. Coated the slices of cauliflower. On the grill at 350F for 30 mins, then flipped and cooked until tender. Mushrooms ready to add to the KK. Soaked golden raisins in white wine and toasted the pistachios. Topped the cauliflower with raisins and pistachios, sprinkled on some cheese and melted it under the broiler.Plated. Interior of steak. ckreef
That looks really delicious. Never tried raisins in this type of cook. Something to try one day. Great cook. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
CeramicChef
@MacKenzie - You crushed this ome! That steak doesn't get any better; it's shear perfection! And the rasin and pistachio topping is new to me, but I'm going to try it soon. Congrats!

CeramicChef
WOWZERS! MacKenzie, up there you get snow. Down here in Oklahoma this time of year, we get golf ball to tennis ball hail and we're dodging tornados! I'll take snow anytime! Beautiful pics! MacKenzie
This was a big shock this morning when I looked out the window, ck blizzard- The good news is the spring chives will survive it all.
MacKenzie
CC, you are so right better to have snow than hail and tornadoes.:)
tony b
OMG, MacKenzie. Still getting snow!! No wonder we call it the Great White North down here. Great looking steak, btw. Love golden raisins and pistachios in my chicken salad, but never thought to put them on roasted veggies. Cool idea.
MacKenzie
Tony, OMG, is right, I really was shocked this morning but have recovered and have ribs on the grill. I will likely warm up some of that roasted cauliflower. I am surprised how much I like it as normally I'm not a fan of it.;)
ckreef
Eeeekkk, I guess that answers my question about weather the humming birds showed up yet. We actually had two. They only stuck around for a week or so then moved on. Figure they were on their way to your house. ckreef
Soon I will hang out my humming bird feeders, they will arrive after the first week in May. It's my understanding that humming birds can only fly about 500 miles at a time before they have to stop for a bit and rejuvenate their energy. Takes them a little while to get to Canada. . We had another one show up 2 days ago. He was a really big one compared to the first 2. Maybe he's the first one that'll hang around all summer. MacKenzie
Just when you thought you'd seen the last of that KK roasted cauliflower, it's back. This time as a cauliflower melt. Remember that sour dough bread I did the other day, well, it's back too. Toasted a nice thick slice of sd bread, topped with roasted cauliflower, cheese, melted it under the broiler and added, wine soak golden raisins and some pistachios and you have a nice sandwich lunch.
