  1. Making Syzygies bread again today and the KK did get a little hotter than I planned, 530F instead of 475 F but watch what happened- Ready to flip and score notice someone put the loaf in the brotform upside down. Baked and there is a little explosion. In the house cooking. Taste test, I think I'll go back for more.;) Crumb view - and taste test, I think I need to double check the flavour.

  2. I actually have an idea for this challenge, but looking at my work travel and planned cook schedules, don't think I have the time to experiment with it. If anyone wants to take it, feel free. The idea is this: Nashville Hot "Chicken" and Apple-Corn Fritter Waffles The waffles are just that. Belgian waffles with chunks of apple and corn. Probably a bit of cinnamon. Maybe something else too. The chicken -- get this -- it's tofu! Probably take a chunk of extra firm tofu, drain it, smoke it for a bit to add flavor, then tear into chunks, bread it, and fry in a cast iron skillet on the KK at around 400. This part needs some experimenting. The "hot" part is Maple Syrup with sriracha (proportions TBD). Put "chicken" on waffle, then drizzle with the maple-sriracha syrup. Sounds good enough I may actually try this someday with actual chicken.

  3. Now that my chamber machine is working again, I'm going around the house looking for things to vacuum pack. (When Border Collies don't have work to do, they become bored and destructive.) Who knew that shredded wheat crackles for minutes after you vacuum pack it?

  4. After another heavy killer frost last night my potato plant was done for so i dug underneath and came up with these treasures. I have already taken 6 potatoes out earlier and the in total there were 41 potatoes. Thanks to SK because she inspired me to plant the potatoes slips in the first place. I will clean the soil off later but right now I don't want to damage the this skin on the potatoes.

  5. OK, so I have been found out. I might as well confess the whole sordid story. Those pixs aren't actually mine I just cut them out of magazines and paste them on my plate. It's so much easier than actually making the meal and photographing it myself. I suppose you all are going to start doing the same thing. Isn't anything real these days? Just wait until you see the pixs I cut and pasted today.

  6. Understood the basket; but it was the combo of the corn and tofu inside puff pastry that had me gritting my teeth, texture more than flavor.

  7. Jeff, The other major brands of ceramic cookers will do a good job for you ( I still own and cook on 2 of them), however my KK makes them look like just clay cooking pots. The substance and quality difference is amazing. After owning and cooking my KK........I wish I would have found out about them sooner. My money would have been better spent on two KK's upfront. Best of luck with your decision. Jon B.

  12. He should target amusement parks and fairs. That's where the money is for novelty foods like this.

  13. To give you a little idea of the scale of this beast.. Because the bucket is almost 25" tall to lip, the distance between the charcoal and main grill is very much like the full-size Komodo Kamados. It is 21" front to rear which is the same as the 23" Ultimate. The 19" Table Top is very roomy for a 19" grill. As you can see, it is absolutely dwarfed by the new 22" TT. This is a no-compromise solution for those who want KK quality built into their outdoor counter. This teak cabinet with an inlaid brushed 304 Stainless sheet is 34" tall like all Komodo Kamado grills/cabinets.
