  1. Strap yourselves in. Fat Man and Little Boy are together! Sorry for the abundance of pics. I've got proud Papa syndrome! Perfect, and I mean PERFECTLY matched. Burley Hurley and his Army ROTC crew came through big time. Little Boy is searing some sous vide steaks for my new Army friends. First cook on Fat Man tomorrow. Planning to use the Octoforks for the first time as well.

  3. I have been wanting to this cook since ordering the OctoForks and today was the day.:) On the KK at 350F. Just about done, 1 hour 10 mins. Plated. That is Malden salt on the potatoes. Chicken interior, sooo tasty and moist.

  8. That's a lot of Fogo. Going old school today. No smoke pot or cold smoker. Just wood chunks on the coals. Somebody impaled my ribs. I'll get a better vid later. These three racks barely take up any room. Could easily fit eight racks in there. Need more OctoForks! Those are full size racks. The OctoForks easily extended to accommodate and they cleared the walls fine on spinning. First turn they hit the coals, so had to dig a small trench. Rotating cleanly now.

  9. Nice chicken, MacKenzie. Please tell me that's BBQ sauce in that bowl and not ketchup!! LOL

  10. Kipper is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. He's only 22 lbs. Here he is with Missy, my other Cav, on the same chair.

  11. Dang that would be a lot of bones spinning! lol The most I've done is 4 full racks. OBTW they'll cook faster than you're used too, I probe them with my instant read for tenderness.

  12. You'll be pleased. First cook will also be my first cook with my OctoForks. Three slabs of St. Louis cut spares. Just finished measuring everything up. I may need to order another two sets of OctoForks just to get this thing anywhere close to capacity.

  13. They're college guys, so as one said, thrilled not to be eating hot pockets! Kept thanking me, but told em they did me a huge favor, so small payment. The KK always draws comments. Nothing like 'em.

  14. Yes, from the pictures it looks like it's cotter pinned in place to eliminate this problem.

  15. Hey Aussie, I usually put a piece of wood to support the motor under it. the basket is quite heavy and with the protein in there too its even heavier, so if you dont balance the basket properly the motor will jump in places. I thought i would support the motor and put a long piece of wood under it that touches the ground so it doesn't hang. Hope you picture what i mean. ill try and take a pic when i get it out next. Now with the spit rod only and not the basket, you may not need to support the motor at all as its quite lighter on the turn. its just with the basket (which is all i have at the moment) i thought it would be better to support the motor. The motor hangs out quite a bit as well. With regards to the bracket, i have never had an issue with it, just personal preference to support the motor to ensure i dont ruin anything Post a pic of your setup when you get it. Cheers.

  16. Great to hear love a good review after I purchased something lol I thought 20 kg would be the go rather than the 10 doubt I will spin anything over 10 but you never know Outback Kamado Bar and Grill

  17. It's irrelevant which way it spins. One side or the other is always going to want to unwind. Blue loc-tite wrenched down with a 24 hour cure time solves the problem. Of course the new pinned pieces from Dennis solves it better.

  21. Thats the one i have mate. Got it from the same place. It does wind the other way compared to overseas motors, so on the basket, it was unwinding the thread. I will have to get Dennis to send me the solid bar attachment so it doesn't unwind the thread in my next order. I have had no issues with it. Its pretty solid. Good warranty and spins quite a bit of kgs. Ive got purchased quite a bit of stuff from those guys and never a problem.
