  3. This spider was working hard on this web. I was walking through that area an hour or so prior to seeing this. I almost walked right into it. Amazing that it could build such an intricate web so quickly. The anchor points are on an umbrella that is 8' tall and my gazebo roof which is 10' away from the umbrella.

  4. Nice tomatoes, MacKenzie. Mine weren't nearly that big. I never get enough at one time to do anything with except eat them!

  7. Made some ketchup today using a recipe CK posted for me. It is quite good I just need to tweak it a little for my taste. It is a keeper. Tomatoes for ketchup. The bigger tomatoes all weighed 1 pound or just over. Now i needed dinner for the ketchup. OctoForks for the chicken breasts. Chicken and Fries. Earlier I dehydrated some of the Tiny Tim tomatoes. Cut and ready for the dehydrator.

  9. My current charcoal is Rockwood. I like it a lot. Easy to light, burns clean, and the distribution of pieces in the bag is very good. I've tried a lot of brands and most are good, some just OK (RO), and others are just crap (Cowboy). If you have any doubts, check out the Naked Whiz's charcoal database. It's surprising how many "store brands" are just repackaged RO and marked up in price (BGE).

  14. Dennis' CoffeeChar is such a spoiler! I am just about out of CC and bought a couple different bags of oak/hardwood lump and it burns & tastes OK but the % of tiny fines/pieces is the pisser. You don't realize the care Dennis puts into the CC until you have ... perspective.

  15. A friend asked me to do up some Canadian bacon for him. He brought out 2 pork loins. Here they are on the KK. I used the KK smoker. It does take me awhile to get it going but once it going it's going! I can't believe I didn't think to take any sliced pixs. I did cut a thin slice of one of the piece to see what it tasted like. I knew it smelled tasty but just had to make sure before I delivered it.

  16. My sieve finally arrived it has been on order for weeks and weeks. It is the only sieve I have that has a serial number. This is the one syzygies said that he likes for removing some of the bran from home-ground wheat berries when making flour. We had an 8-10 hours of freezing rain last evening which led to about 6 hours of no power and therefore no water. Today I spent quite a few hours getting the ice off the deck so I could get out to feed the birds and squirrels. Needless to say I was hungry afterwords that I thought the best thing to do was make a batch of homemade spaghetti and try the sieve out. Thanks, Syzygies.:)
