  1. Looks like the Swiss could be making it 2 KK's in their beautiful country!! (read: should be making it two ). If my fellow Aussie KK owner is a "lurker" can he/she please make himself known???
  2. I got to KK via google.. Whilst researching ceramic cookers....Very happy I found it before I ordered a POSK... Ah well since they didn't reply to my emails for info and Dennis did (very promptly)....(good thing RJ's customer service sucks! )
  3. Re: How thick was the steak? That sounds about right for a regular steak, it doesn't show in the picture but I would estimate the thickness to have been at least 7 centimeters so about 2.7 inches....10-15 minutes wouldn't even have warmed up the center (i would have eaten it since I like my steaks blue). It weighed about 2 pounds...
  4. Yep, just some olive oil + pepper/salt and some fresh chopped rosemary from the garden.... I did a fairly quick roast at 350 for about 70 minutes (since my wife doesn't like too much blood I aimed for a medium (160 in the middle). It came out pretty well and some pieces just melted in my mouth. mmmmm We made a red wine sauce that really complimented the meat. The potatoes took about 50 minutes (same temp) and yes there was a nice drip drip on the taters. Pretty easy way to cook meat + potatoes...
  5. Whilst Dennis was buying ribs we bought some wagyu beef at the local markets. Nice marbling on the beef: It looks kinda small on Aussie Blue : But the result was delicious: It still had a fair amount of fat on it but the meat was super tender/melt in your mouth stuff...with a nice red wine sauce (and some Cabernet Sauvignon) went down a treat... ABout 1 kg of steak between 2 and it all went...
  6. No pics, didn't happen! Get the kids to work on that camera!
  7. I must be ignorant but I always thought that USDA grades went up to the BEST meats qualities (comparable to what we have here in Oz?) I reckon the lamb here is outstanding but that you could get beef at least as good as what we get here (ozzie stock) in the US (with US stock). The marbling on this cut looks great though (pictures to follow in a few hours).
  8. We got some wagyu beef today from the local growers market. Will cook it tomorrow (It's a topside steak about 1 kg) how do you suggest I should cook that one? Not sure if it's "aussie" beef but its from local stock....
  9. Is it all "better" now ? What happenend to your doggie avatar? Congrats you have more than 1000 posts!
  10. She's cute I'll grant you guys that... The answer however...

    Hello

Doing very well, and yourself? Welcome to the forum...
  12. Come and see Aussie Blue Model: Gen II Ultimate Colour: Blue what a surprise
  13. I wrote that message after 2 bottles of wine and some beers... Didn't detect any subtle sarcastic MS messages...oops... I've got a Zensonic to stream my MP3's and videos but it fails a fair amount (mainly because the PC in my study has a crud antenna connection).
  14. Re: How ya'll are? Welcome aboard, it's a great site/product/forum members. Not sure if sucking up to Deej will improve your standing (besides there's 2 admins now). But if you need any advice on tinkering/modding your KK he's the man...
  15. Why wouldn't you mod an xBox?? it's not like it can play eu games on a US/AU box so you are forced to mod them??? BTW I gave my xbox to my nephew...not enough time to play!

    KK vs. BGE

I own a KK and we do not have too many BGE down-under (or KK's for that matter). One of the comments I ALWAYS get from the females that visit is that: "it's a work of art" or "how beautiful is that BBQ" Love cooking on it and it delivers some of the best BBQ I've had (again I can't compare with a BGE).
  17. Limoncello is a great after-dinner drink... When you've stuffed your face, um have eaten your meal, a limoncello goes down a treat
  18. Re: Authentic Limoncello Hi Mike, liked the look of this recipe... However did some googling and figure you can't get it in Oz (and only in some states in the US?) Ah well have to use vodka...
  19. European truffles....the original and best! They sell Western Australian truffles in one of our major department store at wait for it.................... AU$ 2000 Hmm delicious (not that I bought any).... I'll stick with the chocolate truffles and if I were closer to Sanny I'd buy her a box to speed up her recovery!
  20. Is that Sanny in the photo? Not that I'm suggesting that she's from the 50s!!!! Um, I take it the radiation your exposed to is minimal to none?? Otherwise your posts will start glowing shortly
  21. I reckon it looks like one of them suits that DJ uses at work??
  22. Just don't say: kiss http://www.idodogtricks.com/index_flash.html
  23. Welcome you've definitely made the right decision!
  24. That looks like mine. Congrats. And mine! maybe they're cousins? I'll tell Aussie Blue he's got relo's in the states!
