  1. +1^ @Cookie Thats really old fashioned comfort food here at ChezChef.
  2. And here I thought that the truck was hauling around a Dunkin Donuts sign in the back!
  3. Ka-BOOOM! Nicely done, Charles. Kudos!
  4. Here is the Amazon link to the Char Griller brush mentioned above. https://www.amazon.com/Char-Broil-8666894-Nylon-Bristle-Brush/dp/B00IJ3C28I/ref=sr_1_sc_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1465948962&sr=8-1-spell&keywords=Char+Griller+nylon+grill+brush
  5. @wilburpan - that's a steak done right!
  6. @Bruce Pearson - Grill Floss is the best thing I've found to clean my grills. I'm not a big fan of wire brushes at all. Too many people end up with wire bristles in the throats. I don't want to happen to my guest. I first hit the grates with a high temp burn, then the grill floss when they are. Oiled, and finally with a very stiff nylon grill brush. Gets rid of just about everything. The stiff nylon brush in made by Char-Griller and has replaceable brush head that just into and out of the handle.
  7. Thanks, Wilbur! No sticking during my cooks, so I'm leaving well enough alone. Thanks again for your reply. Best to you and yours.
  8. @Izzy - @wilburpan hit the ground running with Smaug, his KK. I'm talking he seriously wowed everyone who saw the posts of his early cooks. No controller at all. The hardest thing for every new kamado chef to do is learn how to control temps via the vents. Wilbur nailed it. You can too. All it takes is a weekend day, a bag of cheap lump, and cooler of your favorite adult beverage. I you would like, I'll post an easy exercise that will help you figure this vent setting thing out in short order. If we can do it, so too will you.
  9. If you want a buzz by dinner, you have to start early in the day!

@bryan - A little sucker may just be the centerpiece of my next get-together. I think that little guy would fit perfectly on TheBeast! Thanks!
  11. Here is a panic breaded chicken breast with a nice green tossed salad and a side of avocado and grilled corn salad.
  12. I thought I'd throw this in the mix. This is just a minute steak and pan roasted zucchini and grape tomatoes with some capers, thyme, parsley, S&P, and a little EVOO. This was one wonderfully tasty and healthy dinner. I'm grilling myself thin this summer!
  13. @bosco - I must have seen that picture numerous times and I never grow tired of it. Great pics of the KKS and their faithful companion! Geez, I just noticed all that grey hair! When did you get that? You're still a young man to have that much grey hair! I guess it's all the time you've spent in law enforcement. Seriously, thats is a great picture.
  14. Aussie - those harvest gold pebbles remind me of my 19" TT, Beauty! Those gold pebbles make for a very warm and inviting KK. Whenever I entertain, all the men are drawn to TheBeast. Every single child runs the Beauty! and wants to touch that KK. Good choice is what I say!
  15. @MacKenzie - Ma'am, you are a jewel! Many, many thanks. I'll be making this soon! You're Aces in my world.
  16. @Izzy - I"ll tell you that I would advise you to wait on the Controller. Up front, I have a CyberQ and I like it. Now here is my thinking on the Controller. I wold learnt control your KK via the vents. I think you'll be surprised at how stable temp is in the KK. Very stabile. I just dump lump in the basket, give it a good shake, and then fill to the top. That shaking makes certain that everything is in contact with everything else in the lump pile. Now, I got my CyberQ for a series of cooks that were going to take a long time and I needed the security that the CyberQ offers. It performed flawlessly. Whenever I need to get away from the house during a cook, I use my CyberQ and I can always observe what my KK is doing. Rob is the CyberQ Guru here and if you do indeed decide to get a CyberQ, I'd get with him either here or via PM. The CyberQ is nice to have, but in my estimation, it isn't a necessity.
  17. @FastGlass - I"m looking forward to seeing this unfold. I'm an entrepreneur myself and I always like to see new businesses succeed. Here's to your success.
  18. @Mekongdaze - I see this is your first post … Welcome to KK and welcome to The Obsession!
  19. +1 on the grill floss. I've used it for aout a year and it does a very fine job. Highly recommend it.
  20. @brett - that's some kind of beautiful cook on that KK! Congrats and kudos!
  21. @Izzy - welcome to Komodo Kamado amd welcome to the world's most wonderful obsession! You are really going to love your KK BB 32. I've got one, TheBeast and I wouldn't trade for him. My 32" is the most versatile kamado I've ever used in over 20+ years cooking on kamados. It's quality is beyond compare, and you already know aout the Customer Service! You got the whole 9 yards when it comes to accessories! We can't wait to see the uncrating and first cook pics. We like pics here, LOTS of pics! Congrats on joining the KK family!
  22. @5698k - this is the absolute best of this genre I've ever seen! Kudos to ya!
  23. @Edwinclevans - geez Louise! You crushed this cook but good! Congrats to HRH, and big kudos and congrats to you. I think I'd love a plate, but I'm betting there are precious little leftovers, right? Very nicely done my Friend.
  24. +1^. Exactly, Tomy! @MacKenzie - that's a wonderful breakfast, especially in London, and it's especially a tasty treat here in OKC at ChezChef.
