  1. Come now - like me you can't teach old dogs new tricks - just need to find somebody that will put up with an old dog - debate is still out as to weather Mrs skreef will put up with my crap over the long haul.
  2. I got no problem counting pennies.
  3. Dang it - I didn't realize I had a brother from another mother - LOL I could have typed your exact post. Always make double the amount of gravy if you want any because I'm eating half - LOL
  4. Never added cheese curd but I love fries and gravy - my favorite way of eating fries. Who wants ketchup when you can have gravy.
  5. My second batch didn't turn out as nice. I added more fruit so it didn't setup as firm. Tastes just as good just a little thin - but not watery. Could still be used on toast but should work really well for cooking with.

    Leg of lamb

Me and Mrs skreef usually only go out to eat for breakfast or lunch on the motorcycle. (something to do when we go riding) Dinner out always seems to be a waste of money and usually disappointing. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
  7. Totally agree we need the like button. Not only does it say you like a post but it's an easy way to let people know you read their reply. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
  8. Nice outdoor kitchen setup. I'm interested in seeing how this wet rub works out. I've gone to wet rubs almost exclusively for steaks and have been considering trying one on a butt.
  9. That is a way kewl cook. Never even thought about making my own cheese rounds.

Elaine, awesome that the lamb cook went well but .................... The very first post in this thread you promised pictures - I don't see any pictures - LOL
  11. Nice looking seafood cook. The plate looks delicious.
  12. TY MacKenzie and tinyfish. The flavor was spot on. The rabbit was not quite as tender as braised but that was expected. Going to try a Low-n-slow bbq with the next rabbit.
  13. Always up for a little venture - with all these orders I better make another couple of batches - LOL Here is a money shot after opening a jar last night. It tasted every bit as good as you can imagine and set up beautifully. I made another batch last night that I think came out even better. (and I'm getting better at grilling peaches). I might make a third batch this weekend, take lots of pictures and post it as a recipe. But wait if we are going to startup a "Reef Jam" venture I might not want to give away all my secrets - LOL
  14. I thought I recognized you. I'm your neighbor, 2 craters away - LOL
  15. That sandwich looks good, just need to put some of that gravy on the fries. I love fries covered in gravy.
  16. If it sets up correctly and tastes right tomorrow afternoon, I'll have a jar with your name on it. A little TY gift for that box of coco you sent me.
  17. I have enough peaches to make one more batch. If it tastes right tomorrow afternoon I'll make that other batch. I have a couple of ideas that might make the next batch better and easier to make.
  18. Years ago I use to do a lot of canning and homemade jams - it's been a while. With all the posts (on another forum) of grilled peaches I thought I would try and capture that flavor for later in the year. So I now present you ................. Grilled Peach Jam Initial taste says Oh Yeah grilled Peach yummy in a jar. Will know for sure tomorrow evening when I Crack open the first jar.
  19. A really great entry tinyfish. Your picture taking skills are seriously improving. You are a force to be reckoned with.
  20. I searched beforehand and saw your post about the screen but I just went simple with this setup. I poured the salt into the pan and spread it out until about 1/4" thick (no measurement). 4 hours with Apple chips followed by 2 hours with cherry chunks. Next time I'll just use chunks. This was my first try at smoked salt. I learned a little and next batch I'm sure will come out darker, with less time.
  21. Last night I started the weekend by smoking some salt. Course sea salt smoked with Apple chips and cherry chunks. 6 hours at 300*. I stirred the salt and added more chips/chunks about every 45 minutes. Came out better than I expected.
  22. Really great looking loaf of bread. I'll make sure Mrs skreef sees this post as she loves kamado bread and rolls.
