@Aussie Ora a total of 6 stores including the 4 I went to today. I finally scored your final ingredient. They had 10 packets, I bought them all. Will send you 5 packets which should make you 10 batches following my recipe. Will get it all boxed up tomorrow and off to the post office on Monday or Tuesday. Yay the road and store rage is over - LOL

Totally awesome. I think Aussie Post has a lot to learn about tracking packages. As soon as Mrs skreef gets up we're going into Macon this morning. There are 3 possible stores that carry the special ingredient I'm looking for. Hopefully one of them will have it. When you finally get the package and I tell you what part the special ingredient is you'll understand how ridiculous it is that I've had so much trouble finding it. If I strike out this weekend I'll just order it online but that will add another week or so delay. Should be able to pickup my S & P grinders today.

So did you vacuum seal the containers. Going to have to look for some of those. I was thinking about vacuum sealing a bunch of bags of berries but those containers look easier.

I was going to go Cole & Manson until I read all that. (it was also a little taller than what I was looking for) Going to go with a OXO. Ceramic burs, cheaper and the height was what I was looking for. Has mixed but decent reviews overall. Bed Bath and Beyond has them in stock locally. I finally get a full weekend off for Easter (first weekend off in a long time). Hopefully can score this and your secret ingredient this weekend.

Reading about pepper grinders they kept talking about using only black and white pepper corns and not red or pink. This was high end pepper mills with metal burs. This is sometimes down in the fine print. I finally found an explanation for this. This is from the Cole & Manson care and use section. "Red and pink peppercorns come from a berry. They naturally have more liquid so we recommend not using these as it could corrode the mechanism. This also applies to our Kingsley spice mill. Black and white peppercorns are recommended in our pepper mills. If you would like to use pink or red use a mill with a ceramic mechanism or use our pestle & mortar. " So it appears red pepper berries contain more moisture compared to traditional pepper corns so you should use a grinder with ceramic burs.

It wouldn't even take $10k for me. I probably would have done it for the $800 they offered. But I'm sort of cheap like that or maybe I just don't make enough in my day job.

They could have given everyone on the plane $10k to vacate it still would have been cheaper.

LOL - maybe it'll show tomorrow.

So you left the Fremantle store bloody and beaten? LOL

Went there once. Thought it was kewl just a biltmore over priced for what it was. See I made a funny but totally serious just the same.

I'm hoping you scored me another bottle or two of Summer Breeze. It's so good I've been saving my last 1/2 bottle for a special occasion.

Good link.

I'm super excited especially since I am a fine dining establishment - LOL. Really awesome you did this for us. When we first started talking about it I had no idea how hard it was going to be getting them. Of course last years drought threw a monkey wrench in the plans.

Totally awesome. I got a good laugh at you munching on a few berries - LOL. Did they turn your tongue purple or did you spit them out to soon? Still laughing. So my goal today is to order a grinder. Getting ready for my brain to explode with all the choices. Would love to order the handmade ones but would want 2. One for salt and one for the pepper berries. Just not into spending $200 today.
-
That's a nice one although would rather go SS not coper. So many choices really makes it hard to decide. I bought one a few months ago I absolutely hate. Trying not to make that mistake a second time.

If you're going to spend that kind of money check these out. All handmade to order from an old spalted tree. Different styles to choose from. You could order it and have it shipped to me then I'll send it your way. You know, just trying to help - LOL I'm on the fence with these. They are absolutely gorgeous but I sort of want a clear one so I can see the pepper berries. If I don't go clear this is my leading contender. https://www.etsy.com/listing/286879601/peppermill-grinder-wood-pepper-mill?utm_campaign=shopping_us_RoosterStudios_sfc_osa&utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=google&utm_custom1=0&utm_content=7089156&gclid=Cj0KEQjw5YfHBRDzjNnioYq3_swBEiQArj4pdB12RsmcIH-tgRKH54pOatuNNkcWUe_G-I81XIeySoQaAluD8P8HAQ

Nice. I've been meaning to get an air fryer for some time now.

@Aussie Ora got everything gathered together except one key ingredient. Went out today to get that last item and couldn't find it. It's sort of hit or miss so I'll have to look at a few other stores to find it. Sort of a critical ingredient for what I'm sending you. I'll try and find it this week so I can get your goodies shipped off. I also scored a really great box for shipping the items. Yea it's sort of nerdy getting excited over a box - LOL.

Very nice outcome and the ribs look fantastic.

That is so true about the grocery store seafood counter, especially shrimp. Almost all of it is put out in the morning still frozen. That's fine if you're going to take it home and cook it that evening. Otherwise you're better off asking for some still frozen from the back freezers.

Called the store down in FL where I'm ordering some goodies. I was able to get all 4 items - yay. I've wanted to send you these items for a few months now just didn't have my act together before today.

If my missus hammers my KK's, first I'm going to burn the body. Then when I send @golfpro2301 my KK I'm going to include a large jar of cement looking powder so he can mix it up into the grout. If the missus is going to cause the problem, she can also be part of the fix - LOL Fortunately I'm talking about Mrs skreef. She loves the KK's so I really have nothing to worry about.

I am definitely excited. Going to go online and find the right pepper mill for this. I want a small mill with 2 or 3 position adjustable for how course the grind is. If you read different articles this is actually a really nice treat being able to offer a fresh grind table side at Reef's Bistro.

Looks good. Bad tinyfish for being lazy - LOL
