  1. Thanks, Tony, just coated it with pepper, granulated garlic and onion. That was it. The slices are moist and pliable which is just what you want.
  2. Friday stated to SV an eye of the round roast at 132F for 36 hours. This morning, time to slice:) Here it is sliced up nice and thin- A closer view- and I saved a couple of thick slices to warm up for dinner and probably will pour some bag juice sauce over the top.
  3. Smokydave, that cook looks wonderful and so tasty looking:) It kind of makes me wish I hadn't ground the 4 chuck roasts I bought yesterday at Costco. Oh well, I'll have some good burger meat.
  4. Thanks for that tip, Tony. I'll do that tomorrow.
  5. No luck at our Costco but found organic garlic at the local superstore. I have 2 bottles in the pressure cooker right now. The recipe calls for a sprig on rosemary and a few spring of thyme and cook at second bar for 2 hours. Here it is just before putting in the pressure cooker. See you in 2 hours. 2 hours later.
  6. Elaine, it is exciting isn't it. I ordered 21 inch which has a high top. I was tracking the envelope with the papers. I have not heard anything other than that. I do think I'll hear something this coming week:) It is for sure that help will be readily available via Dennis and this forum. I think we might be busy shortly :D
  7. Elaine if you have only been using a gas grill you are in for a real treat, the food you cook on this grill will be totally different. Those ribs are about to move to the next level in taste as is everything else you cook on the KK
  8. Elaine, welcome from the other side of the country:) You will no doubt have yours up and running long before me. My papers arrived in Montreal this morning so I'm optimistic that I'll hear something next week as to when my grill will be delivered. Which KK did you order? Don't forget to take lots of pixs this will be the one and only chance.
  9. I'm going to Costco tomorrow and I thought I'd check them out. I think I might caramelize some onions in the PC, while I'm in the mindset. Have you done onions?
  10. No, I bought then at the supermarket. They were organic and I meant to get some more this afternoon so I could try Tony's PC method and forgot. Tomorrow:)
  11. Howard, that is a fantastic ending and I'm so happy for your son :) Thanks for letting us know, I've been wondering what happened.
  12. I think I'll give your method a try too, maybe I'll get a chance this afternoon. Thanks, Tony:)
  13. Put garlic bulbs in a garlic roaster add water until it is 1/4 inch deep, cover. Roast at 325F for 1 hour. Cut bulbs in half and squeeze out garlic cloves. Using the back of a spoon press through a fine sieve. Ready to add water and steam. Done and cut in half. Creamed and ready to use for pizza/spaghetti sauce or garlic bread:)
  14. Cookie, it sound like you have a wonderful celebration planned:)
  15. Or I guess you could just coat one side but for sure the clarified butter makes a huge difference:)
  16. Thanks, Bryan, I can use that:)
  17. Lots of room on that grill, 12 steaks doesn't even begin to fill it.
  18. Looking forward to those vacation shots.
  19. Davey, chicken and veggies, both from the KK, must have tasted wonderful.
  20. BigLazy, a slice of that tasty looking pizza for my breakfast would start my day off perfectly.
  21. Tony, you might have the upper hand right now, best you enjoy it while you can because my KK will be here before too much longer. BTW, I'm glad you gathered up the energy to prepare that stellar meal
  22. Tony, this was pay back for your pizza post
  23. Sous vide at 132F for 5 hours. Dried it off and add a steak rub of your liking by actually putting the rub on a plate and pushing the steak into the rub, trying to give a good coating of rub, then sear. Put a big drop of clarified butter on top of the steak, this is critical to the final flavor- The interior-
  24. Tony, I don't usually tell people about my brothers, eh
  25. Wow, it is gorgeous, and your friends have quite the sense of humour. Didn't get a shot of your wife as she saw "The Tank" for the first time, did you?
