    BabyQ

We’re having a BabyQ tomorrow as my wife is pregnant and instead of a baby shower she wanted something where everyone could come and celebrate. Just put 12kg of brisket into the BB32, to be followed later by 5kg pork shoulder and 4 big racks of beef short ribs. I’ll update the thread as I cook through the night and serve it tomorrow. 4. Working from home today means I get to spin half a chook on the KK for lunch. Can’t wait for this, the smell wafting through the house is unreal! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Sounds awesome but I can’t see the pics, they just show as broken links. Edit: scrap that the pics are now showing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Love the idea behind it all! I reckon that’ll work a treat, the pan on top will trap the humidity and let the dough expand without drying out. Looking forward to seeing the results from this. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. There’s heaps there. About $200 worth going the price I paid for a tiny packet in Tasmania lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Thanks mate, it certainly is! Very greatly appreciated. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I had a great parcel in the post today! @Aussie Orasent me some pepper berry aka purple crack, I got some last month in Tassie but this should last me a while! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Ah wow, my mouth is literally watering looking at those pics! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Hey Flemming, thanks very much! Beef ribs are a bit like brisket and tend to finish in their own time, this particular set took 10 hours at 110c The first 6 hours were unwrapped, then they were wrapped in foil until they proved tender. I’d say a good rule of thumb for beef ribs is to allow for a 10 hour cook, and if they finish early then rest them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Thanks mate, are you sure you don’t want any $$$ I’m more than happy to pay for the product and the shipping? I’ve been absolutely smashing the pepper berry recently, I love it! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I’m looking forward to having the 32 looking like it’s worth lighting lol, everything else looks lonely on there! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Thanks mate, these were cheapies from FJ’s, the only thing I don’t like about them is the little layer on the top. I’ve got an epic cook coming up next weekend, I’ll be cooking: 2 x 6kg briskets 2 x 3 kg pork shoulders 4 big racks of cape grim beef ribs (my absolute favourite) Lots of snags and chicken wings. 19. Thanks tekobo, it’ll definitely change the pace of life a bit I’m sure but we’re both really looking forward to it. Great advice also on the cooking on the day, we’ve decided that all the low n slow stuff will be off resting in the cooler way before the guests arrive so we’re planning to have everything cooked for just as they start to arrive, that means that once the sausages and wings are done, I won’t have to cook anything else for the rest of the day which will leave me free to chat and have a few beers with everyone. 20. What are the chances of getting any into Australia Dennis? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Great video, it brought back a lot of the nervous / joy feeling of delivery day and initial unpacking and setup. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. What a fantastic looking first cook Flemming! It’s amazing how well they hold temps, if you haven’t had a Kamado before you’ll be even more surprised at how little fuel they burn to hold the low n slow temps. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Looking great Aussie, I bet it tasted amazing! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. That looks awesome! Definitely keen on getting one of those! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Nice logo Tony! The Perth Homebrew share club is a Facebook club and they don’t have regular club nights. I’m on the committee of another homebrew club which meets monthly called Northern Brewers Homebrew Club, we’re just organising our first BJCP comp for May called “I speak no Americano” American Pale Ale entries only.
