  3. Fantastic! Camera at the ready Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. oh no, sorry to hear that. Fingers crossed they get their act together and get it to you ASAP!
  5. Woohoo! Delivery day hopefully! How much do you feel like a kid at christmas now lol Enjoy the delivery and uncrating experience.
  6. I've never had it happen, but then i'm always very careful how i build / position my charcoal. What size were the charcoal chunks? I always find i get much better performance and reliability with larger chunks compared to lots of broken up little bits, as Dennis says above, the small bits of charcoal can block the airflow.
  7. @tony b There are some nice looking hop cones in the background of one of your pics above, what varieties are you growing?
  8. Welcome to the club, you're going to love that new BB32! We'd all love to see the delivery and un-crating pics if you get the chance, takes us all back to the wonder that is KK delivery day!
  9. haha that doesn't sound like too bad of a problem to have
  10. Haha thanks @tony b cant beat a good set of buns lol! Congrats on the homebrew comp win. I also entered a comp last weekend, my entry caused an argument between the judges. One wanted to give it a 37, the other a 36.5 and the last judge, who also happens to be the BJCP trainer for Western Australia wanted to give it a 23, go figure! Unfortunately, in the end, the other two newer judges come way down and i ended up with a score of 25, which sucks as if the third judge had have been up there with the other two then my beer would have had a shot at taking first place. Oh well, these things happen.
  11. Congratulations! i was lucky enough to get to see the 42 when i was at Dennis's place in Bali late last year. That thing really is a beast in terms of real estate and the design is simply amazing! Where abouts are you based? Are you in the US and get to get your grill relatively quickly, or do you have all the fun ahead of tracking various ships as it wings its way to you? Id love to see the unboxing, burn in and first cook pics when it arrives.
  12. I’ve been working from home today which allowed me the time to bake some sourdough and also make one of my favourites, pork belly bao buns. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Congratulations, hours of fun ahead!! I usually pull the front vent panel out and scrape the ash out that way, the door at the back was for the gas port i believe. How did the venting go?
  14. Thats a double win, new KK and awesome NEIPA!
  15. Congrats! Great pics of the burn in, seeing it all crated up brings back really fond memories of the uncrating process! What beer are you drinking there, it looks like a NEIPA?
  16. I had the same decision to make last year, i ended up with the 32 and i'm really glad i went down that path. I usually only cook for two people but the space means you can fit things like baking pans with handles and other odd shaped dishes on with no issues. The charcoal usage is practically on par with my old cheap 18" Kamado, so its a win win. A couple of weeks ago the Wife and I had a BabyQ - Baby shower for around 50 people and the 32 handled it with no issue whatsoever, in fact the 3rd grill was used to hold the drip pans, i could have fit a lot more on: This is 2 x 6kg briskets, 2 x 3kg pork shoulders, 4 x racks of beef ribs. Then there are the times where you want to bake, the 32 is an amazingly capable bread oven and has plenty of capacity: Another nice thing is how easy it is to make a true 2 zone setup, i'm a massive fan of reverse searing steak, in the pic below i brought the steak up to temp on the upper right grate, then took it out and let it rest whilst the grill come up to temperature for the final sear: If i had my time again then i wouldn't change anything about my decision to get the 32. You'll be really happy with whatever you choose, but for me the 32 was the way to go.
  17. Has your KK already shipped? If not then i'm sure the team would slip the side tables and some charcoal on top of the crate.
  18. Congratulations! Fantastic choice, you're going to love every minute of it! The only advice i would give it to have a think about the accessories you might want i the future, I didn't order the rotisserie with mine and i ended up ordering it later and picking it up from Dennis in Bali. My point is that when you order your grill, the shipping on the other accessories you order at the same time is effectively free, this is especially important for things like pizza stones and other bits that are heavy and could cost a lot to ship later on, especially to Australia as is in my case. Just my 2c worth. Can't wait to see the cool unboxing pics and your first cooks!
  19. Absolutely fantastic looking breakfast Mac! What camera do you use for your pics? I’ve got an EOS 550d SLR that I’m too lazy to use when my iPhone is in my pocket, but the pics you post are always amazing quality. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. As the others have said, i've never used the deflectors at all for any cooks, i just let the drip pan sitting on a lower grate act as the heat deflector too.
  21. Amazing pork belly Mac, I can almost smell that from here! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Thanks Bruce, i love a good roast dinner on a Sunday, this one turned out great! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. As promised, pics of the final event. Slow roasted lamb shoulder with Yorkshire pudding and roast veggies. As usual, the KK performed flawlessly. http:// Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
